The Good, The Bad and the Ugly...
The Good... To say I love the Premium 1 strop from SRD would be a huge understatement... this product could turn stropping into a "Fatal Attraction..." The Morley blade always produces, and I'm glad to have learned to use the Speick cream... The scent takes me away to the deep woods of the Black Forest whenever I use it... Great stuff!
The Bad... I've had the English Leather around here for ages. Years ago I didn't like it, so just put it away. I offered today to give it a fresh start, and another chance, but all it did was prove to me that I still don't like it, so it gets the big raspberry for the day!
The Ugly... That's me! I wish it tweren't so, but it just is... I can live with it!

Hey Bill,
Nice succinct post...and a great review of some of the product too.
1) You know how timely this is? I was talking to Rich (aka Zib) via PM yesterday/today about exactly the IV and the I. I have a IV, which I love. I found out that he loves the I...he strops on the IV first and moving to the I. I am seriously thinking about getting me a I now...especially after your validation of it. Thanks
2) I never liked EL either...I know some do, but it never resonated with me...at all. So, I am in the same camp as you.
3) I highly doubt that my friend. Not in my book...Your post should probably be: " the Good, The Bad, and the BEST"

Friday
Prep: Hot shower--followed by Robeson bay rum beard prep method
Brush: Rooney 3-1 Faux Tortoise “Super Badger”
SS/SC: Proraso + Erasmic = Superlather
Strop: VB Red Latigo--50 fabric; 60 leather
Razor: 5/8 Dovo “Red Solingen”
Astringent: Thayer’s Original Witch Hazel
ASB: Zirh “Soothe”
AS: Booster “Aquarius” (sample) Thanks mbeem!
Result: A really close, comfortable and refreshing shave…
Another of my early acquisitions, this razor has a special place in my rotation. I was at first reluctant to use it because it looks so beautiful. Over time, however, I discovered that the real beauty of this razor is the fact that it is a wonderful shaver. It removes whiskers like a hot knife through butter. Definitely a keeper."Age is an issue of mind over matter. If you don't mind, it doesn't matter." Mark Twain

You gotta get yourself one
Thank you Mark...got mine from SRD. But C'mon man...Go ahead, pull the trigger. You know you want to . Type SRD in your browser's address, hit enter, navigate to the Maestro Livi link and hot new grinds and choose the one you want (That Cocobolo one has your name written all over it. You don't believe me? check it out...it says: "reserved for Mark"). In all seriousness, if you can, get one...A Livi should belong in everyone's arsenal of str8s.
I really love this blade...but come to think of it, I feel like a broken record by now ...I love all my blades! They each have their own little personalities of sorts.
