    1) You know how timely this is? I was talking to Rich (aka Zib) via PM yesterday/today about exactly the IV and the I. I have a IV, which I love. I found out that he loves the I...he strops on the IV first and moving to the I. I am seriously thinking about getting me a I now...especially after your validation of it. Thanks

    2) I never liked EL either...I know some do, but it never resonated with me...at all. So, I am in the same camp as you.

    3) I highly doubt that my friend. Not in my book...Your post should probably be: " the Good, The Bad, and the BEST"
    Thanks Robert...

You're much too kind! I might be less ugly inside, but I still ain't much to look at outside!

BTW, I think you'll love the Premium 1 strop!

I bought a razor yesterday, got it shave ready and then nicked the toe on the hanging hardware of my strop. After that result i decided to leave the shave for tomorrow.

Anyway, can't wait to see you today Robert, please call if you need directions or anything of the like.

Oouuuchhhh...man, you are dangerous with those str8s . Got the address...GPS will do the work. I love technology.

I'll join you guys as soon as we get home...we are sitting at the dealership as we speak . have fun with Matt and I'll be there by 1:30-ish or so...leave some room for beer ...I'll bring some with me (maybe some quality "Blue Moon" Belgian?). Do you guys want anything else? I feel like I am forgetting something though (early onset Alzheimer's? )

I got home rather late last night and decided, against my better judgement, to strop the razor then. Sleepy stropping = bad results. I do have another 8 razors i could of used but i was so bummed i passed on the whole ordeal.
Beer is much appreciated, but if anything try not to forget your razors this time, i have yet to see a collection as pretty as yours in person
    See you soon.

Mid morning shave, had errands to run this morning so the shave waited till I got home.

Face wash warm water and soap.
Hot towel from the nuke box on face for about 3 minutes.
Whipped up some SRD Sandalwood with the Badger brush (took about 2 1/2 minutes).
Lathered face and used the Dovo Black Star making passes in four different directions (more on the chin)
    Trimmed the mustache.
    Ice water rinse and towel.
    Thayers Original Witch hazel.
Nivea and Bay Rum mixed for the finish.

Smoooooth and no burn. I think I am getting the hang of this.

    Default Friday

Prep: Hot shower--followed by Robeson bay rum beard prep method

Rooney 3-1 Faux Tortoise “Super Badger”
    SS/SC:
    Proraso + Erasmic = Superlather
    Strop:
VB Red Latigo--50 fabric; 60 leather
    Razor:
    5/8 Dovo “Red Solingen”
    Astringent:
    Thayer’s Original Witch Hazel
    ASB:
    Zirh “Soothe”
    AS:
    Booster “Aquarius” (sample) Thanks mbeem!
    Result:
A really close, comfortable and refreshing shave…

Another of my early acquisitions, this razor has a special place in my rotation. I was at first reluctant to use it because it looks so beautiful. Over time, however, I discovered that the real beauty of this razor is the fact that it is a wonderful shaver. It removes whiskers like a hot knife through butter. Definitely a keeper.
