Post Week of October 3 SOTD - Saturday

    A Fabulous Saturday Morning Shave

    Pre-Shave: Hot shower
    Pre-Shave Oil: Truffit & Hill
Razor: 11/16" F.W. Engels "Perfect Temper", Hollow, Spike Point
    Brush: 22mm Vulfix Super Badger
Überlather: TOBS "Eaton College Collection" Shave Creme + Cella Crema Da Barba Soap+ Glycerin
Astringent: Thayer's Witch hazel (Lavender, no alcohol)
    Moisturizer: Trumper's Fragrance-free Moisturizer
    EDT: Penhaligon Racquets EDT
Result: Today's shave was with another eBay purchase I recently made; the Engels "Perfect Temper". This beauty came NOS and in near mint condition. Beautiful blade and I really like the blue tang on it. [I can't believe that I actually won it ]. I set the bevel and took her through my routine progression of honing and before I knew it, she was popping hairs in mid air. The shave was equally fantastic. The lather was thick and slick (glycerin/tallow mix), wholesome and moisturizing!! We're off to my folks' for what's surely going to turn into a day of eating, chillin' and plain fun with the rest of the family. Mom's cooked up a storm, as usual .

I seem to be nipping this flu in the butt...thanks for all your good wishes gentlemen. And it's amazing what a little rest & relaxation - not to mention plenty of fruits, vegetable/chicken soup (homemade by my wonderful wife), and plenty of liquids - can do.

Have a relaxing and fun Saturday .

    SOTD Saturday October 9, 2010

Razor: 6/8 Abraham George, Full Hollow, Spike Point
Coffee: Steve's (swarden43) Home Roasted Tanzania (Thanks Steve!)
    Pre-Shave: Proraso Crema Pre Barba
Shaving Cream: Acqua di Parma (Thanks Curtiss!)
    Lather Bowl: Ceramic
    Scuttle: RAB Ceramic
Brush: Custom Rosewood 28MM UK Extra Stuffed Silvertip
    Astringent: Dickinson's Witch Hazel
    ASB: Nivea Replenishing
Aftershave/Cologne: British Sterling Cologne for Men
    Results: Outstanding!

I had the pleasure of enjoying some of Steve's Home Roasted Tanzanian Coffee before this morning's shave and it was a pure delight! This freshly brewed delicacy seconds after being ground, filled the room with its wonderful aroma and set the tone for this mornings shave selection; nothing but the best! This morning's shaving experience could not have been better and is a reminder of why we (devoted wet shaving enthusiasts) spend the extra time out from our daily mundane duties and devote a time to relax and enjoy life and it's pleasures. I hope that all had as wonderful a shaving experience as I did this morning.

Believe it Robert...Believe it. Nice blade. It looks just like the one I got several months ago.

Glad to hear that you are recovering from your flu too.

No notes compared, just some pure inspiration. It looks like many of us opted for the menthol in the lather

What a great week of SOTD's this week, thanks gentlemen!

Cream: Proraso Soap + Trumpers Limes Cream (never-ending lather)
Razor: THE CLEFFCO 486 "Ground in Hamburg"
    Toner: Thayers Rose
    ASB: Trumpers Limes Skin Food
Result: Amazing shave. This razor got the hone treatment this weekend and today was the day of testing... What an edge! I'm sad to have to say bye to this razor, but it's going to go to a good cause... I'm giving it to my best friend along with a strop to get him started out. Hopefully the next time you guys see it will be in HIS SOTD pictures
