A terrific shave this morning with the Solingen. I dragged out the 1903 from behind all my Edts and remembered why I liked it in the first place. Freshly ground Kenyan AA to go along with the shave made it that much more enjoyable.

I call this my SHTF Kit... With the camo scales, no one will be able to see me shaving, and the 7mm Dakota will speak for itself... and with a fair amount of authority!
I haven't pursued Mr. Deer for a good few years now. We never put much of a dent in the population anyway, but we had a great group of guys that used to go into camp... Some of the fondest memories I have!
One guy is chasing whitetails in the Great Beyond. Another gave up due to emphesema, and yet another to macular degeneration. It's sad to think of the old times, but it helps to remember that no one's gettin' outta' here alive!
So, I still go and sight in the rifle anyway... This one happens to be waaaay too much gun for the thick woods of New York, but whenever I feel a bit too big for my britches, shootin' a rifle usually knocks me back into line!
And, I still end up with two rump roasts marinating in the fridge... Destined for Venison Sauerbraten early next week...

Today's post will be my last regular SOTD post due to increased workload on the Ranch and other commitments. I will follow this forum and post when I have the time or have something to add. I have enjoyed the outstanding SOTD posts and the discussions for well over a year and will remain an avid follower. Take care, my friends!
