Since I'm still testing hones I tend to shave with the same blade over the course of several days so that I can get a true feeling on the edge.

Been restoring some other blades lately that I don't plan on keeping so I will just have to do a test shave on them to make sure they meet my approval before moving them on.

I just broke down on the shipping and finally ordered some. It is the best french soap that I've tried (and I think I've tried almost all of them) and you are getting 170 grams of it. Compared to an AOS puck that costs $26 for 90 grams then it isn't that much more expensive on a cost/oz basis.

Definitely a soap to try before you buy as it has a medicine like scent that actually grew on me from my sample to the point I just bucked up the $$.

Where in Germany did you guys get it and how much is this thing? Smells like medicine :eek:? Not sure if I like that. But I've heard a lot about this.

The only place I have seen it is their website:

Soap factory Martin de Candre: soap made in the ancient style following a Marseilles method.

I believe the shipping is very expensive. This is one soap I am dying to try, but I cannot justify the cost.

Yep, we're getting close now. On Tuesday the Professor will take a look at Jack's blood levels and If it looks good we will get the go ahead to go home.
I'm not holding my breath though, he needed a platelet transufsion a few days ago so may get delayed.

MdC smells medicine like or menthol like - hard to describe. Can only be ordered from their website.

Knize Ten smells like the cologne - leathery. I purchased mine from colonialdrug here in the US. It is a 225 mL bottle so hopefully it lasts a long time given the price.

Thanks Joe...if it's that hard, I will probably wait until I make it to Europe before getting it. Or I can have one of my colleagues who comes visiting every few months get me some MdC when he comes from Paris.

Are you kiddin' Monroe...it is great. I thought you already did get one (or two) a while back!! Contact Phil (I sent you his email) and tell him I sent you. His prices are 1/2 of what you pay retail and they are the real deal. He'll set you up nice and easy with whichever scent you desire. They're all great. Pen has some new scents too, which I haven't sampled.
