Sun November 14th - Sat November 21th
.
Location: 36° 0'5"N - 115° 15' 21"W |
Razor: Mastro Livi |
Brush: Simpson Chubby II |
Soap: Pre de Provence |
Astringent: Thayers Witch Hazel |
EDT: Habit Rouge - Guerlain |
Comments: Decided to take out the Mastro Livi for a spin and go for an elegant, simple refreshing shave. The Shea Butter properties from the shaving soap left my face feeling moisturized so I had no real need for an A/S balm, cream or splash. Took out the vintage Habit Rouge for a few sprays. I really enjoyed my shave. Simple, moisturizing, fresh, BBS and totally Zen. |
Have a great SOTD! |

Another early morning and yesterday's return to DEs was so enjoyable, I thought I'd do it again. This time was great, but I could tell the blade was in need of a swap as I got several weepers. All in all, though, it was still a good shave. I'm BBS and ready to head out!
Now the countdown can begin: 5 days to Vegas!
Great start to the week, and I look forward to your SOTDs, gentlemen!

Week of November 14 SOTD - Sunday
Visually Stoned
Pre-Shave: Hot shower |
Razor: 6/8" Respecto #77, Hollow, Round Point |
Brush: 24mm Shavemac Silvertip Badger |
Überlather: TOBS Eaton College Collection Shave Creme+ Cella Shave soap + Glycerin |
Astringent: Thayer's Witch hazel (Lavender, no alcohol) |
Post-Shave: Trumper's Sandalwood Skin Food |
Moisturizer: Trumper's Fragrance-Free Moisturizer |
Cologne: Penhaligon Racquets |
Result: Since I am a visual person and relate to the spatial organization of objects in 3D space, I decided it was time to experiment with some stones to check what kind of edge they left behind (scratch marks, patterns, etc...). This will help me in my quest for that all elusive "perfect" edge. So, my Respecto was the perfect guinea pig (my first ever straight :)). Rather than bore you to death with the mundane, you can read the details of the experiment here. So, now that I literally "see" the edge I get from a JNat, how's the shave? In a word, FABULOUS!!! I was flabbergasted when I witnessed with my own eyes the difference between a JNat edge and a CrOx edge...I am now an official believer in natural stones. The JNat edge that this Respecto received was nothing short of great...And it's all due to the stone as I don't think I am any good (yet) with these stones. I can only imagine the possibilities that will be revealed with enough practice...can't wait. |
