Thursday
Prep: Hot shower--followed by Robeson bay rum beard prep
Brush: Vie-Long 16510 White Badger
SC: Proraso + 2-3 drops glycerin
Razor: 5/8 Case “Red Imp”
Strop: VB Red Latigo--55 fabric; 60 leather
Astringent: Alum block
ASB: Nivea for Men “Extreme Comfort"
AS: Dominica “Bay Rum”
Result: BBS all the way…
The last time I used this razor, the shave was somewhat unsatisfying. Not anymore. I took it to my SRD paddle strop, where I proceeded to strop it 15-20 strokes on the diamond sprayed hard felt and untreated rough leather. Then I gave it 55 and 60 strokes respectively on the fabric and leather of my daily VB Red Latigo strop. What a difference!Last edited by jhenry; 01-06-2011 at 07:15 PM.
