The Butler is getting there. Gave me a reasonably clean shave without any irritation. It will still take some honing, but at least I know I'm making progress.
Ran out of Colleen's sample and I'm gonna hit C&E to get one of theirs. Just trying to decide b/w Nomad and Sweet Almond and whether I should get the wooden bowl or not.

I'll go there and decide based on the scent. Btw the Butler seems to be ready. Can't wait to test it in about 9hrs

The Butler finally gave me a real close shave, but I'll take it back to the hone to increase the comfort level. There was some slight pulling on a couple of occasions, which I plan to eliminate.
Since we did some shopping for the house, I jumped on the bandwagon and bought that aqua velva ice stuff. In all honesty, I love it. It really does cool the skin and absorbs quickly so there's no greasy sensation. The scent isn't anything special, so I wouldn't use it before going clubbing or on a date, but it's ok for work. It outperforms any of the pharmacy stuff like fusion, nivea etc etc etc. that costs twice as much or more. One more thing that I missed was the sting, but that's what you get from non-alcoholic stuff.

Edwin Jagger brush & Moss scuttle
4/8 Tuckmar frameback FFJH (fresh from Joe's hone)

Nice slow contemplative shave, lots of time to think this morning. Joe's honing skills were, as usual, superlative.

wow.
Just had my BSE ... Best Shave EVER!
That doesn't mean all that much because I haven't been around long, but still, very satisfying
2x hot towel
Florena (East-German shaving cream, very 'affordable' and I like it)
my new 6/8 Revisor
took me hours to hone it on Monday since I got it pretty dull. Still not sharp towards the heel, but I left that for another time.
Then today, couldn't resist the temptation, shaved with it anyway.
Oh my, oh my, oh my.... so smooth.
