    Default Friday

    Pre: Hot shower
Brush: New Forest silvertip knot in vintage barber handle
    Razor: Henckels
    Soap: Nannys, The Spicy One
    AS: Prada
    Strops: Neill Miller linen/cardovan 30/50
    Result: Very, very clean
Today I went all in and lathered Nannys new formula from damp/dryish brush and added water slowly. When I reached a point where I prob would have stoped, I continued. I payed off, usually Nannys soaps needs much water and for this new formula I used even more (at least it felt so for me). Anyhow - Success - slick and protective lather in mass. This new formula is nice, aka da tits!

No way Rene! I've been traveling with work all week and I started packing a DE as a backup after my last trip where I didn't have my bag for a day and had to shave with a disposable from the front desk. I just wanted to give her a whirl for the variety (I only have 1 straight with me and I forgot to hone it prior to coming and it had started to tug a bit at the end of my last trip and needs a quick refresh. I've got a barbers hone I bought for travel coming so this will be a non-issue in the future). I really like the L'Occitane Vetyver EDT also. We don't have a L'Occitane store in STL, but my flight connected through Atlanta and I had a 3 hour layover...and what do you know, they have a L'Occitane store in the airport score! Cheers my friend.

Thanks Robert! I've enjoyed seeing your Maxterpieces this week! I agree with you on the thicker consistency and I can't wait to see what a difference the distilled water will make. Have a great meet up this weekend with Matt & David!

Manaslu M-55 | Semogue Custom Boar | Nomad | Thayers Rose | Cade ASB | Domenico Caraceni 1913
The lather this morning looked nice and thick in the bowl, but quickly broke down on my face. I was worried, but went forward anyhow. Surprisingly, the Manaslu, even with the poor prep, glided effortlessly through the stubble. I was BBS after two passes with no irritation at all. The Cade ASB is wonderful stuff and the scent meshed so well with the memory imprint I had from shaving with the Nomad. It was topped off with the DC 1913, which is a rose scent that really didn't grab me, but the wife liked it and asked me to wear it tonight because we have our weekly date night. And who's going to argue with a beautiful woman on date night?

It's been a wonderful week of shaves, gentlemen. Thank you all for sharing, and I wish you all a wonderful weekend!

Hi Moonbeam! Thank you, and yes, it gives a rather nice shave, I think. One of my few modern razors. Hmm, maybe I´ll bring out another one of them tomorrow...

Great bunch of razors today gentlemen! I am bowing out for today's shave. I used my new DE yesterday, and it looks like someone threw a cat at my face...Apparently pressing to hard is not a good thing when using a DE.. Oh well live and learn...A least I can live vicariously through you.
