1959 Gillette Super Speed Red Tip
Crystal Israeli Blade
Ogallala SS & Musgo Real SC Uber-lather
Omega Boar
Dickinson's Witch Hazel
Brut Original ASB
Brut Original Cologne
Results: Slick & Comfortable! The Red Tip SS delivered a super shave this morning. These are the best of the Super Speeds IMHO and are equivalent to an adjustable set on #7.
@ Rene'; The Ogallala SS & Musgo Real SC worked fine as far as creaminess but, the Musgo overwhelmed the Bay Rum Scent of the Ogallala SS as it did with your TOBS mix. Maybe if the SC didn't have any scent the Ogallala SS's scent would remain. Dunno. Oh well, science marches on! LOL
Hope everyone has a great shave and wonderful day today!

Looks like Frank (FBones24) is the one to watch on the count. He's next up for 1k!
Bruce,
Great shot. As for the Ogallala SS, my best uber with that creature came from a mix of Ogallala + CarrieM SC in Bay Rum. I seem to remember CarrieM telling me that she specifically designed her Bay Rum to match/compliment the Ogallala scent. I highly recommend trying it if you're searching for the ultimate combination that will preserve the wonderful scent!Last edited by Maximilian; 03-03-2011 at 06:40 PM. Reason: Merged

Fabulous as always Bruce.
Hmmm...that is a great tip Bill . Rene sent me some Ogallala stick and I have some of CarrieM. I wasn't a big fan of the scent, but it is slowly starting to grow on me. I think I will use your suggestion and see what happens. I am sure it'll be great

Thanked: 2516The TOBS St. James is great Rene'. I love the scent of it alone. I will use the Ogallala SS and Musgo SC combo this morning and report later. (Gotta have my Coffee first!) LOL
COOL! Thanks for the great tip Bill! I don't have any CarrieM SC but I am putting that on my wish list. I will definatetly give it a try.
Thanks Robert! I will be watching to see how your trial run with the Ogallala Stick and the CarrieM goes, as will Bill I'm sure.Last edited by Maximilian; 03-03-2011 at 06:39 PM. Reason: Merged

Another gorgeous work of art Tom. Congratulations my friend.
Beautiful Wacker Fonti. I love this version of the Jubiläummesser and the etched writing on her spine. Very classy
Those two were exactly the ones I picked as synthetic too . The real question in my mind is (and I know you fell this): will I be able to tell the difference in a blind test?
Otto,
That is one heck of a whopping monster of a blade. I like it. Is it a wedge or hollow (I forget)?
Grant,
That is a beautiful Gotta. I really love "true" French points. They have the same characteristics of a spike, but with a nice looking twist/look. Very classy.
Heeeyyyyyy, wait a minute Mikael. Who you calling 200 years old, LOL?
Can't believe this thing is that old. Very clean too.
That's a beautiful Wosty Bill
TGIG Indeed. "Thank God It's Glenn". I like it maestro. Congrats on the honing.
Great shave with a great blade...but sorry about the small nick. It happens.
