    Wednesday

    Rooney style 1 small finest
    D. R. Harris Arlington soap
7/8 spike Friodur with Oryx scales
    D. R. Harris face milk
    Czech & Speake No 88.

Had a terrible sinus headache, so I was glad to escape without incident. The excellent shave was a nice bonus. And the smell of C&S#88 always puts a smile on my face.

    Cool shower, hot towels
    Edwin Jagger best badger
    moss scuttle
    Trumper Limes
    Tony Miller #1
Kronpunkt 4/8 (was pulling so switched to backup)
    Dubl Duck Goldedge 5/8
    TAZGMSC aftershave
    Royall Lyme

Kronpunkt was pulling a bit, enough that it wasn't going to be enjoyable finishing with it so I switched to the duck. I set aside the kronpunkt and will touch it up on the pasted paddle and see what I can do with it.

    Rooney brush
    Harris Arlington soap
    Moss Scuttle
    Illinois strop
7/8 spike point Friodur, with custom oryx scales by Robert Williams
    Harris face milk
    T&H 1805

The shaving gods smiled on me today. Two passes, and as smooth as I can do with the DE in three. Fifteen minutes total elapsed time. Getting better...

    Friday:

    Rooney style 1 small
    Truefitt & Hill Grafton cream
    Moss Scuttle
    Illinois strop
7/8 spike Friodur with Oryx scales
    Pinaud Clubman

I was pleasantly surprised at how quick this shave went this morning. I did get a small nick, but that's typical when I use cream (except for cremo-cream). If only I didn't love the smell of Grafton so much!

    Cool shower, hot towels

    T&H 1805
    C&E Edwin Jagger
    Moss Scuttle
    Tony Miller #1 (30 linen, 30 leather)
    4/8 genco spike
    TAZGMSC aftershave
    Royall Lyme

Had a few "moments of regret" (still need a japanese word for that time when you're waiting for the blood to flow) on the left side, I was valiantly trying to make myself use my left hand. First time I've nicked myself in a couple of weeks. GREAT shaver though, love this little genco. It's functional, plain and utilitarian without any fancy scales or showy stuff but shaves like a monster.

    .
Gary, you just described my Taylor. It doesn't look like much, there's even some minor pitting on it, full hollow but not a singer, black plastic scales and it shaves like you wouldn't believe it. On top of that, this was 2 days after I shaved with a DE, so I experienced a feeling of rapture once I finished.. I became a changed man as soon as I went straight, and it's good to remind myself from time to time
