Thanks Grant! How's Chef training coming along? What's your favorite dish so far?

Excellent shave Bill Good luck this week, don't work too hard.

Coming along nicely thanks mate. Just topped the class in a written/practical test last week (sorry to brag but I'm very pleased with myself). Dont know if its the favorite, but the dish I've cooked at home a couple of times is the Eggs Benedict, that Hollandaise sauce takes a little practice.

    Location: Coffs Harbour Australia
    Prep: Hot Shower/Hot Towel
    Strop: Illinois 835
    Brush: FS Finest Badger
    Soap: Proraso (White)
Razor: OCD Razors (Bob Allman) POC 15/16
    Astringent: Thayer's Lavender Witch Hazel
    Balm: Nivea Replenishing
    A/S: Old spice
Result: I always enjoy a shave with this beautiful razor. Shaving with this is not something that can or should be done on auto-pilot, It feels very different both in the hand and on the face than any other razor I own. Nothing short of BBS. A great shave tonight.
Going on a road trip tomorrow so I've stropped a couple of razors and I'll take the camera and laptop. Hopefully get a post done from Sydney tomorrow night.
    Have a great day gentlemen

    Default Liberation Day

Well today makes my divorce official. Jan 11 was when we signed the agreement. There is a 90 day waiting period, just in case you change your mind, HA HA HA Ya like that was going to happen. So as of today i am officially Single. WOO HOO. Its funny how even though she left 5 1/2 years ago. I could not in good conscience meet someone and tell them im not married, single or what ever. So to commemorate it im using my celebration razor i had Max rescale for this reason aka "Mariah Carey" Blade. Because she sings so sweet when she is being stropped. Salter "Gift from Bill" For my divorce. Thank you Bill. What a great way to start a week. Ahhhhh!!!!!!

Absoultly anazing post guys. I went to bed to wake up to 3 more pages.

Cool Week of April 10 SOTD - Monday

    Round #2: Honing Experiment (Series 1 - Coticule Polish/Finish)

    Pre-Shave: Hot shower
Brush: 22mm New Forest Silvertip Badger
Razor: 5/8" Geneva Cutlery, Full Hollow, Round Point (from Rene)
Honing Regimen: See link HERE for details. (1) Shapton Pro 1k/2k/5k/12k, and (2) La Grosse Blanche Coticule (polish/finish - dilucot method)
Strop: 0 laps (Neil Miller linen/Premium IV leather)
Überlather: TABAC Shave Creme + TABAC Shave Soap + Glycerin
Toner: Thayer's Witch Hazel (Rose Petal, no alcohol)
    Moisturizer: Trumper's Fragrance-free Moisturizer
After Shave Splash: Floïd Italian Blue
Results: No picture today (same setup as last Friday's, except changed soap to TABAC). Based on discussion in the other thread, I decided to redo the experiment of Friday (Link HERE). The reason is that a jump from 1k to the Coticule may be stretching honing to its limits and folks thought (and I agree) that the edge needs a bit more intermediate refining before going to the Coticule. So, took the blade through the full range of Shapton pros (1-12k) and then polished and finished the edge on the LGB Coticule. The edge sharpness dropped from a 9.0 to an 8.5, but smoothness increase quite dramatically (from a 6.0 to an 8.5). As for the shave, it was irritation free and BBS all the way. Next shave is on Wednesday...giving skin a break between experiments.
