Good evening Gentlemen
Shave prep: Face wash
Brush: Omega boar brush
Soap: Sensational Indulgences juniper sage
Razor: Otto Busch Weltmeister
Strop: nun2sharp's hanging leather strop
After Shave Splash: Oriental spice
Notes: I believe this is my most hollow blade. Perhaps for that reason, I don't use it very often, and this is the first time I've consciously evaluated my shave with it. Before I started posting to SOTD I never thought about twice about my shaves - things either worked or it didn't. It is clear to me now: I like this blade, a lot. A nice, relaxing, comfortable BBS.

No shave for me today. Beautiful equipment on display today gentlemen!
Thanks for the Kind words Robert.
Jeff, Rene, Grant & all of the Dads out there, I hope you had a great father's day as well.
Rene, good luck on stopping the RAD. It got me thinking, maybe we should set up a large scale razor swap in the SOTD. It would be pretty cool to see our own razors in someone else's SOTD.
Good luck Bill, I hope things work out exceedingly well for you my friend!
Keep the great posts coming Men!
Glenn
:chop:Now that I have looked at it closely I have determined it is not a cut but a piece of meat missing from my chin!!! wow is that sharp!! Well done SRD!!!!!! LMAO. It came off in one little pass. oops

Thank you for the very kind words Rum. What can I say? You guys inspire me. I love this forum
Ahhhh. Just the way I like it too Monroe
Thanks Monroe
Nice shave you Vetiver Freak, LOL. Love that C-Mon
That's too funny David...She may be old, but I bet she's one heck of a whisker wacker
Julian,
You must have been having too much fun on Father's Day, LOOOOL. Beautiful Montague
Thank you Kalerolf
She's definitely a beauty Sten. I also found that as I moved forward in my str8 shaving journey, I tended to like prefer the hollowest razors. But, I do have a few wedges that will compete with the best of them extra hollows too. It's all fun. Enjoy the process of discovery my friend. I can honestly say that it is certainly the best part of wetshaving
Ouuuch Paul...Sorry about the cut buddy. These Dorkos are known for their keen edges. Heal fast brother. technique will be there when you do (a day or so at most hopefully)
You are too kind Advisory. Thank you
Hehehehe. You da man Rene
That's on the surface. He's got Vegas covered in bets, LOOOOL. Everyone there knows about you by now, LOOOL...You can't even book a flight to go see Max.
Interesting idea Glenn...Isn't that kind of like becoming a razor pimp? There's only one guy I know who's holds that title and I ain't telling who it is, LOOOOOOL. besides, you just want to get your hands on my Puma, LOOOL. Don't you??
Jeez Louise Paul...so, now you have a hole in your chin? How bad does it hurt (or does it hurt)?
Teiste,
Lovely as always buddy. Your gear is always impressive to say the least.
Strop: Tony Miller Tri-Strop

Soap: O MELHOR - CREME DE BARBEAR
Razor: Dovo Red Bismarck 6/8
Balm: Ahava
... & my new SRD Scuttle...
I do need to acquire one of those nice old C-mons...
That is a nice blade to be removing bits of your chin with:hmmm:
It looks like I am on the evening shave routine for the next few days, which is a nice way to end a sweaty bug filled day.
No pic as my post shave "treatment" is occupying my attention...
Prep: Hectic grocery store trip ending in a the "t-bones are freezer burnt and we need a fresh protein" call :gaah: Then dinner followed by a hot shower.
Soap: Fitjar lighthouse bay rum (I really like this Fitjar soap and should try the other scent that is in the box waiting)
Brush: Rooney Badger
Razor: Dovo C-Mon Blackie
Post shave: Witch hazel, Highland Park 1998 and perusing the SOTD
Result: a decent touch up shave with a razor that probably could use a trip to the hones (when they arrive and I learn to use them) as the shave was a bit harsh compared to Sundays shave with the Blackstar. Oh well I'll just have to suck it up and continue with the post shave relaxation :w
Cheers gents
Have a good evening.

A refreshing clean and invigorating shave, the Feather moved over my face as graceful as a Ballet dancer, two pass shave, with minor touch up, l'm liking the Duru lemon cologne big time more of a everyday splash rather than a full on cologne, the Mother inlaw brought back six bottles from Turkey, so I have enough to last me a few years:D, keep those straight razor photo's comming they all look amazing.

No shave for me today either, which is a break with tradition for a Tuesday ;)
Gas repairs in our street mean we have no hot water, so we're having to make do with boiling kettles. I couldn't hog the bathroom for that long so I'll either shave tomorrow night or as normal on Thursday morning. Enjoying the extra growth though for an even better shave later in the week!

Pre-Shave: Hot shower Brush: Semogue 2010 LE #66 Maxterpiece:Worked Back Grelot "Marque" Strop: Kanayama Soap/Cream: L'Occitane Cade Astringent: Thayer's Lavender After shave Balm: L'Occitane Cade EdT: Lorenzo Villoresi Piper Nigrum Results: Before I left for my vacation, I received this Grelot. It seemed unusual to me, as I'd never seen one like it with the thumb notch and the slightly worked back. It carried a significant patina. I started to clean it up myself, but knew it would need a better touch as the scales were shot already. So, I sent it to Max to assess while I was away. When I returned, he told me he was ready to send it back. I wasn't sure what it would be, as I'd given him some free reign, but I got back a beauty that really matches the patina (which we both wanted to leave in order to protect the unusual blade etch). He dressed it in some ebony with a gold wedge, and it looks like a million Euros! Of course, the edge he put on it was superb and this newest Maxterpiece teamed up with the Cade uberlather to clean me up and leave me looking like a fresh born babe! Another shave for the record books...

Three passes is fairly rare for a workday but I decided hey, if you don't have time for stuff you enjoy, what the hell is the point? Even after 20 shaves this razor gives a respectable showing. Just the slightest hint of a tug, it may be about time for a touch up.

Result: The Wade & Butcher effortlessly wiped away the 2 day growth and left me with a fantastic BBS and Blah Blah Blah...The W&B is an awesome razor, it always gives me a great shave.
The real highlight of tonights shave was the brush. It arrived totally out of the blue today and was a gift from Glenn (aka Sharp). It was superb. Great backbone, and beautifully soft. The handle is about 10mm longer than my Frank's brush and is exactly the length I've been thinking about.
Glenn turned the handle himself and gave it a CA finish. Its beautiful.
He also sent some samples of other soaps, creams etc which I will be trying over coming days.
A great shave made possible by our very generous friend Glenn. Thank you.
To use Aussie slang: Glenn your a bloody champion mate.

It was a great day Robert..I got to hang out with my Father, brothers, and sisters.. This one is one of a few Spanish points that I own and I have definitely, fallen in love with this beauty queen. Her edge was taken to the Maruka Asagi (slight slurry - 20 laps w/ each dilution + water finish - 60 laps). She is as smooth as butter. The Pré de Provence uber delivered a marvelously rich and moist (not to mention fabulously scented) lather :nj. The den smelled heavenly. So much so that my wife kept wondering in every few minutes, getting a nose full before strolling out :w. BBS and loving it. Finished things with the Pré de Provence AS balm.

Gentlemen: Have a MARVELOUS Tuesday :tu
Great photo and shave ED. Lovely Bismarck for sure and congrats on your new SRD scuttle
Good to hear Paul. You can probably shave around the area, but be mindful that the razor's heel/toe does tend to dig in such a "hole"
Dunc,
Looks like you already have the best C-Mon there is. Once these edges are dialed in, they are amongst the best for sure. So, hone her up my friend and you will not be disappointed. Just a word of caution/advice: If you are a beginner in honing (sounds like you are), I would not recommend learning the art on this nice razor. Get yourself a cheapie razor (maybe even 2) from eBay and use it to practice your honing skills. There's almost always a good chance that you can mess the razor up learning this art.
Absolutely FAN-FREAKIN'-TASTIC Béla. Awesome looking Buddel. How do you like the QED Fresh lime SS?
Jamie,
That Duru sounds amazingly intoxicating. I bet it's a great wake me upper in the AM too. Well done
Mikael,
That Nesbitt is pure "Perfection my brother. Beautiful. Great choice of software too
Rum,
Sorry to hear about the gas repair pains. We don't realize how much we take our hot waters for granted, until it's limited. Hang tough brother, you will enjoy that shave soon enough. And when you do, I bet it'll be an extra special one
Super stupendous
Nice shave today Birnando...I love it. Arlington + JC sounds about as heavenly as they come. Sounds like that cut of yours must have healed up pretty nice
Wowww Bill. She is a total babe man. Max did an amazing work on this one. I was wondering how that blade would clean up, but saving the etch was a good move
Awesome Torrey Glenn.
LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL
Beautifully said brother. Just fabulous. I love it. Great shave btw
Grant,
Another fine example of the quality of the people on this forum. Congrats on the new brush and nice gesture Glenn. Very nice shave too btw
Jamie,
Great to hear...when you take it all away, all we have left is family. Those are the true ties that bind. Yeahhh...I have a feeling that your Montague is going to gain notoriety (and sentimental value) amongst your expanding collection.
None needed. The wonderful setup with the "Diamond" as its centerpiece speaks for itself.
Excellent roundup of top players Julian
Robert was very kind enough to hone this for me. I bought this blade an eldery lady in Connecticut. She was in her 70's and she told me this was her fathers. I ubered up Eucris and TOBS St james. What an awesome scent and lather.
