LOL Wid, that oudoor shot is great! (the commentary ain't bad either.)
For example you can have a 1/2 Hollow that's rather stiff (less flex - less feedback) or a 1/2 Hollow that is more a loose grind (less stiff - more feedback) so it actually shaves and feels more like a 3/4 or full hollow. It depends how thin the hollow grind runs towards the edge.
Robert, If you used a different Maxterpiece every day, how many months would it take before we saw the same one twice?";"
Beautiful razor and photo.
another gorgeous photo Jose, thankyou
Welcome to SOTD. Great to have you here, nice set-up BTW.
Grant
Today I was installed as the pastor of a small church in Asheboro, NC! I"m sure Grant will agree that its good to be employed again :)
Today wasn't the most relaxing shave ever. I had kids constantly kicking me out of the bathroom while tyring to get ready. The shaving creme actually dried solid on my face at one point!
However my Bismarck performed admirably and 12 hours later my face is still smooth (even against the grain).
PS: Shave Secret Oil
Blade: Dovo Bismarck Red
Shaving Cream: Bath House Spanish Fig and Nutmeg
AS: Pinnaud Clubman
Cologne: Burts Bees Bay Rum

Vaseline for me.
I used an old photo since I was too lazy to take another. Enjoy the rest of your evening.

tumtatty,
Congratulations on your installation as pastor.
I completely agree with Bill and Grant!!!
Robert, You are a Maxterpiece Whore!!!!:soapbox::matrix:
It's like I always see the girl I want with the same damm guy!!! At least I know you will treat them all right even If , sigh.... I may never get around to dance with one of these beautiful women as they keep having other dance partners....(hint to Max, when am i due on the back log list, LOL)
I decided no shave for me today and going to let Mon morning be opening day for a newly honed Genco... or maybe the redpoint..thoughts fellows?
Tom,
What a delightful shave this must have been brother. Love that Rodgers...She is gorgeous.
Chris,
A uniquely fabulous razor my friend. Beautiful scales too
Ahhhhh Jim,
Those Goldedges are worth their weight in Gold. Fantastic shavers to say the least. Great choice. That Martini must have hot the spot afterwards.
Ohhhh brother,
Now, I am not only jealous but also drooling...BIG TIME!!! One of these days, I will land me one of these in mint (or close) condition. Well done Theseus.
Rum,
Beautiful Puma to offset the less than perfect weather outside. Also, congrats on the Aventus. How do you like it?
José,
Now that's what I call an all-French affair to remember. beautiful hardware/software brother
Stupendous shave Teiste
EXCELLENT is the only descriptive that comes to mind. beautiful Revisor
Thank you Jim
LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL
Hey Joe,
Those Satinedges are amongst the best of the DD series. Great shave. How was the Golf? Who won, LOOOL?
Thanks Tom...As to the "Loose Grind", I think Max gave that "perfect" explanation. Never shave with a cracked blade or a blade on crack, LOOOOL. It's worse than one's brains on crack, LOOOL
Thanks brother
Good question Grant...The answer would be ~21 days. Thank you for the kind words about the Henckels my friend.
Pastor Tim,
Congratulations on the new position. It must feel fantastic. Forget the fact that the shave wasn't quite there...You'll have better ones I am sure. After all, now you've got Friends in very high places)
Jeff,
That is one stunning Henckels. I love the etching...I haven;t quite seen one with that kind of etching before. Well done
More than you know brother...more than you know, LOOOOOOL
LOOOOOOL. Sorry, when it comes to my women, I don't share, LOL. Do you have a Maxterpiece on tap with max or a Maxtom? Either way, these take time (like good wine). Hang tight Paul. When you get yours, you'll love it.
BTW: I vote Red Point for tomorrow...just my 2 cents
LOL I'm on the wait list.. I know it will be worth it, but like all things the heart wants what the heart wants!! Every time I see the Beautiful work and quality Max produces it pulls on my soul just a little bit more!!:boohoo:
And you win the vote a Razor contest. red pointe it is!!

Weather is hot + just about right, Robert!
The Aventus is a really unique smell. It replaces my Original Vetiver, also from Creed, as my "expensive" scent. Hopefully this 120ml / 4oz bottle should last me a while. I've not actually used it yet but I've been sampling the scent for ages. It starts off really fruity and dries down into a wonderful oakmoss/woody base. Watch this space on this one!!

I am a big fan of Al's shaving products. Very good lather and leaves the skin feeling great. I hadn't used CarrieM's cream in a while, and pairing it with her glycerin soap was just the ticket. I was rewarded for my efforts with a luxurious and delicious smelling cream that left me wondering whether I should eat it or lather my face with it! In the end, I opted for the latter and was probably all the better for my choice. The RW has such nice, smooth steel and it felt great on the face as it deftly swept the weekend's growth of stubble away. It was all topped off with a classic scent and now I'm ready for depositions!!

I did a much better job lathering the MDC than I did the first time I tried it, and as promised, it delivered an abundance of fantastic lather. It took me a minute to figure out how I felt about its scent, but by the second pass I was digging it.
I just gave this razor a tiny bit more fine tuning today and was rewarded with a 3 pass BBS shave.

Pre-Shave: Hot shower Brush: 25mm Marris & Forndran, 2-band, Blonde Badger (Bone handle) Razor: 13/16" Toyo Scheön Burg #776 "Most Reliable Razor", Extra Hollow Ground, Spike Point Honing Regimen: Naniwa 1k, Shapton Pro 1k/2k/5k/12k, Y/G Escher Strop: 35/50 laps (Neil Miller linen / SRD Premium IV leather) Überlather: Martin de Candre Savon à Raser Toner: Thayer's Witch Hazel (Rose Petal, no alcohol) Moisturizer: Trumper's Fragrance-free Moisturizer After Shave Splash: Floïd Italian Amber AS Post Shave Moisturizer: Martin de Candre Copra Oil Cologne: Martin de Candre "Eau de lavende" EdT Results: Each day this week, I will be shaving with one of my Japanese razors (the western straights, not Kamisori style). My Toyo collection is complete now (I think). I had been looking for this Toyo #776 for some time now and as fate would have it, blade and master were finally united :y. Honed her up about a week ago and happy to report that after setting the bevel, she took on an extremely sharp and ultra smooth edge :nj. Given that the proof was ultimately in the proverbial pudding, she passed this test with flying colors. Didn't feel a darn thing ...I had to run my fingers across my face to believe that I had shaved. It was that goodhttp://www.foroafeitado.com/foro/ima...ies/banana.gif. Not even the slightest hint of micro stubble anywhere on the face...Smooth as butter. These Toyo steels are truly amazing instruments. Of course, one cannot forget about the other players...the MdC lather played a key role in making this shave a success. I love this soap http://badgerandblade.com/vb/images/...ys/001_wub.gif!!!! Wholesome to goodness, all the way to its core http://www.foroafeitado.com/foro/ima...number_one.gif. Finished things with the MdC oil of copra on the face and some Eau de Lavende behind the ears and I am off to tackle a busy day.

Have a BEAUTIFUL Monday Gentlemen:tu.
I hear ya Paul...and can't wait to see the RP in action today
Very nice choices Johan
Rum,
That sounds like a wonderful scent indeed. Is longevity an issue with this one.
Awesome Birnando...Love that RW of yours (especially the French Point style). Al's creme is indeed one (if not "the") of the best cremes out there. Sorry about the weather brother, but seems like you are prepared to deal with it ;)
Otto,
You have such nice vintage blades in your collection my friend.
ooh lala Monroe. And what a "Bijou" that is. Great shave
Beautifully done Bill. Love the fountain pen too. Is that Amboyna Burl wood?
Now, that sounds like an ultra close and moisturizing shave. I love it. Great job GI
That sounds interesting Rum. Thanks for the tip buddy.
Nice going on the restore Matt. Genevas are fabulous shavers
Mikael,
Excellent. I agree...LT doesn't need anything to dilute it, but MB soaps are FANTASTIC too. Great shave buddy. Well done
What a beautiful combination of products today Grant. Glad you're liking the MdC
Great!!! Thanks Tom...I love you too man. It's nice to know I have friends who care, LOOOOOOL. Great shave today btw
Way to go with the Proraso galore Dominic. Wonderful razor too
Not that I know of. On me, it goes for ages! Not sure if it's how much I put on, but it definitely seems to stay on clothes and somewhat discretely on the skin. I've noticed it even some hours after a shower. This is true for all the samples that I've tried. Will report back and let you know if this is the case with my own bottle :)
Tumtatty -
Congratulations!

Good afternoon Gentlemen
Shave prep: Long hot shower
Razor: Wade & Butcher, 5/8 barber's notch in cocobolo scales
Strop: nun2sharp's hanging leather strop
After Shave Splash: Lavender spice, house blend
Notes: I kinda messed up today. I came out of the shower and was just going for a light touchup, but before I knew if I had done a full pass and touchup. So nothing for me to shave this afternoon, and I did not get to splurge with luxurious suds. Anyways, a smooth and comfortable shave, no irritation.
