Wow,

You know some days it just puts a smile on your face. I just got a Filharmonica 7/8 from Classic Shaving this weekend and we went for our first spin around the block this morning. It looks like a serious kitchen utinsil with that really big back but it got through a two day weekend beard with no problems.

I applied a preshave of Proraso pre-post shave cream and loaded up my badger brush with a Taylor of Old Bond Street Sandalwood. As I let this soften the beard a bit I gave the Filharmonica a few swipes on the linen strop and a few more on the horse hide and we were off to the races.

One pass north to south, lathered up and made a second pass east to west...smooth, smooth, smooth.

I finished up with a cold water rinse, another dab of Proraso and a cool splash of Dominica Bay Rum Aftershave (I'm so mad. I just noticed that Classic Shaving now has Captain Smith's Spiced Bay Rum. My wife is going to kill me)

Anyway...A great Monday morning start.
