All 3 kids slept till 8:30, which means mom&dad did, too. Felt great! Hot shower and intense facial scrub was the perfect exposition to my shave.
Pre-shave: pure glycerin, rubbed all over.
Soap: AOS sandalwood
Brush: AOS pure badger
Strop: 200 latigo, straight from the Swaty
Razor: Frank Revitt 7/16 smiling French-pointed hollow in original horn
Astringent: Alum block
Balm: Shave Butter
Retouched this razor last night on the backside of my Swaty and stropped it to death immediately afterward. Only thing I don't like about the razor is the lack of tang behind the scales for my ring-finger. My sausages are on the larger side, and it doesn't feel as comfortable as my other razors. Otherwise, I love it to death. It's barely a hollow-grind, so it has that wonderful feeling of a wedge. You know, the feeling of just wiping away lather and being uncertain if you're actually shaving, but after touching your skin you feel buttery smooth? Yeah, that goodness.
I face-lathered for the first time today, right on top of the glycerin and it came out beautifully. Might do that more often as a time-saving option.
God, I love shaving.
