    PREP: Hot shower and conditioner
    BRUSH: Shavemac Silvertip
    SOAP/CREAM: Custom Vetiver blend Bomb
    RAZOR: Robert Williams Barbers Notch
    STROP: Kanayama Cordovan
    AS: Alt Insbruck
    COLOGNE: Domenico Caraceni 1913
RESULT: Every once in a while you have a shave where everything just "clicks." This was one of them! The lather today had to be in my top-5 all time. The water/cream mixture hit exactly in the sweet spot and I was left with some of the most luxurious lather you could ever dream of. Even better, I did two full passes, plus touch up and could have shaved two or three other people with the lather left over! The Robert Williams razor performed flawlessly as always, and I walked out of the den with a face that would make a newborn jealous. Topped it all off with some AI aftershave and a dose of DC 1913 and I can now take on the world!

He saw a lawyer killing a viper on a dunghill hard by his own stable; And the Devil smiled, for it put him in mind of Cain and his brother Abel.

Well i honed 2 more razors last night. So now there are 6 to test shave not counting this one. I brought out the Guillermo Hoppe and honed her up. She was a nice easy honing. What a beautiful big blade she is. 2 passes with no need for a touch up.

C&E Sandalwood + TOBS St James
    Guillermo Hoppe 14 between 15/16 and 31/32

Well, I think the yuck cloud that has hovered over me for the last four days is beginning to clear. After the last three days of feeling like 5 turds this morning I only feel like about 2. I actually tasted the morning cigar (a wonderful La Veleza Dominican) and had a good strong cup of french roast coffee. I'm not back to a hundred percent but I do feel markedly better than I have yet this week. What I do know is that I've spent more time on my back than any decent man can live with. And while minor congestion and an annoying cough persist, I really need to get out and move around and will likely try some light PT this evening.

The shave was great today too. As you can see, I brought out my fanciest fancies I'm waiting to get blasted for the body spray but it does actually smell pretty good (and come on, it's not like I'm wearing Axe it is after all an Old Spice product.)
The older I get, the better I was

    Hey GI,
Hang in there. From the sounds of it, you're well on your way to a 100% recovery. After all, you had a great shave with some of your fanciest gear. That's bound to put any man in a great mood

Got my Razorock in and had to try it out. This soap/cream is some pretty great stuff. The smell, the glide, the moisture, it was all there and was all superb. What better way to enjoy this cream then with my Wade and Butcher. Never fails to give me an excellent shave.
    Matt,
Love that razor..She's drop dead gorgeous. The Marilyn Monroe of razors.

    PS: RazoRock rocks...great stuff indeed

    EA,
Sounds like you came dangerously close to cutting yourself whilst distracted. The beauty fo that Dovo sure is hypnotizing.

Second time I use this brush, it's still in the break-in period and I had lathering issues again.
thank God I had chosen the precision-oriented E.A. Berg, this razor never fails to disappoint.
Sorry to hear about the lather issues. The DR Harris soaps are wonderful products. Great EA Burg too...She sure rescued that shave ;-)

You call that an excuse, LOOOOL? No worries mate...I am guilty of the same, but my excuse was (and remains to be) "work".

PS: Can't wait to see that new Sheffield blade of yours Grant.

Well, the shave was not good. I shaved with this one earlier in the week and decided it needed a touch-up. Unfortunately the touch-up didnt do the trick so I'll have to take it back down the hones a little further. I'll save it for a day when I'm feeling a little more patient.

Beautiful gear Grant, but sorry about the lack of performance from this "less than Superior" razor. I am sure when you're less distracted, she will sing for you on the stones and live up to her name.
