Week of October 2 SOTD - Wednesday
Pre-Shave: Hot shower Brush: 24mm Shavemac D01 Silvertip Badger Maxterpiece: 15/16" H.R. Böker #14 "Arbolito", Full Hollow Ground, (muted) Spike Point (w/ Black Horn scales) Strop: 25/60 laps (Torolf Linen / Ambrose Horse Hide Clásico leather) Überlather: Al's Custom "Spicy" Shave Creme + Haslinger "Honey" Shave Soap + Glycerin Toner: Thayer's Witch Hazel (Lavender, no alcohol) After Shave Splash: Floďd Italian Blue AS After Shave Balm: RazoRock AS wax Cologne: Creed "Tabarome" EdT Results: It's great to be back (missed you guys). Wife and I returned from Vegas on business/pleasure and had a great time visiting Max and family (thank you for your hospitality maestro ). I only shaved on Monday with my DE (wonderfully smooth shave though), so today I was reaaaaaaaally looking forward to shaving with one of my straights. Question was which one ? My wife suggested the Arbolito/Shavemac combo. I love it when my wife gets involved in my shaving (or other) habits/hobbies. Makes this sport all that much more fun. . The Haslinger/Bomb combo was deliciously moist and fantastic, leading to a luxurious prep. The Arbolito had no problems wiping the 24 hr growth. What a feeling.
PS: This week, I am waiting for two special "treats" coming my way...stay tuned
Have a DELICIOUS Wednesday gents.

PREP: Hot shower with face scrub RAZOR: Merkur Slant with Feather Blade BRUSH: Rooney stubby XL2 SOAP: Klar Seifen Sandalwood ASTRINGENT: Thayers ASB: Skinfood Sandalwood EDT: John Varvatos "Vintage" RESULTS: ONE FOR THE BOOKS Couple of new things for me this shave. First up the Merkur Slant. If I couldnt use a straight this would be my next choice hands down. I was nearly BBS after 1 pass! That never happens with a DE, but yet I was also irritation free. This is going to be my go to DE from now on. Also the Rooney XL2 is a Fantastic brush, just the perfect amount of backbone and softness of the tips made for an excellent prep. The Klar Seifen is always an outstanding performer as well. Capped it off with a sample of John Varvatos "vintage" ( which I will be buying a bottle soon) and Im ready for a nice relaxing movie and lunch with the misses. HAVE A FANTASTIC DAY GUYS!! GLENN. MY DEEPEST CONDOLENCES TO U AND YOUR FAMILY, IM GLAD TO SEE YOU BACK BUDDY. ROBERT, ALSO GLAD TO HAVE U BACK, CANT WAIT FOR THE NEW TREATS U GOT COMING UP

Thanked: 13234Wednesday Morning
Another test shave on this Livi after the re-hone, this is number 8, and the edge seems to be holding strong
Simple is, what simple does this morning, as I had to make a Dump Run and was running late..
Jeff Foxworthy needs to use this one:
Ya might be a Redneck if you know what a "dump run" even is...

10-06-2011, 01:28 AM #8Beautiful second round gents. Keep 'em coming. It feeds the soul
Now, there's a man dedicated to get a good shave, tired or not. I love it when I take extra time to enjoy a good shave too. Beautifully done Birnando. What a lovely setup too.
I love that Wacker of yours Michael. Great shavers
Congrats on the new slant Matt. They are great versions of a DE. They get the job done very very effectively indeed.
The treats are going to be very interesting. One of them got in today, but will have to wait 'til the other gets in too. besides, I have to run out the door rather early and don't want to rush it with either one ;-)
LMAO Glen...Jeff Foxworthy is truly hilarious. Great shave too. Those Livi "new grinds" can sometimes be touch and go (some reported bad edges/grinds and had to return 'em for an exchange)
Shumate rules
I hear ya...+1.
You must really like them Antoni. I know your other one and I can't blame you for going for a 3rd.
PS: ...Resist it, and your soul grows sick with longing". (The picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde). Greta quote my friend. Great book for sure.
That JE must deliver some fantastic shaves. Great choice
It's a great blade for sure Angel...with or without the name
You somehow need to engage her in that activity. My wife was always kind of interested, but not too deeply. As soon as I got her a Lady Gillette and showed her how to lather (which I still end up doing), she got more into it and she's interested in what I have, what you guys talk about and certainly when I get a Maxterpiece. Her favorites of my collection are the Orange and Green scaled Friodur/Henckels. She would kill me if I ever lost those, LOOOL
An exceptional photo and shave Rune. Well done. Love that frameback Toyo
Tesite,
I see that you are slowly turning into a RazoRock junkie, LOOOOOOOL
Thank you monsieur
I love it Nic. Well done
Phil,
It's always great to see your posts. Great shave my friend. Whose the custom brush from?
LMAO, LOOOOOOOL.
Mike...this has got to be the cutest and funniest unshaven picture posted in SOTD.
Thanks buddy...So, we're both sitting in anticipation, LOOOOL. You for my "treats" and I for your shave
