Just back from an organ concert:
    "Bach and Blues at Silbermann"
Blues at an Silbermann-organ is amazing.
As I posted already... Gottfried Silbermann built this organ in 1730!

So I got my annual "That was really F#$kin Stupid" shaving cut today. I was trying to get in a quick shave without missing the 4 PM kick-off. Flag #1 disregarded, when quick shave enters into the mental dialog either use a safety razor or postpone your shave. So I'm flogging away on the right side of my face bouncing to a crisp rythm and checking my watch. Flag #2 disregarded, don't flog and don't EVER bounce, distractions (i.e. the watch) inevitably lead to bloodshed. Sure enough, I felt a sudden sting on my right EARLOBE. Naturally by the time I moved to the other side of my face, it was streaming blood a la Vincent Van Gough. Sure enough about a 1/4 gouge in the middle of my right damn earlobe (no I wasn't even shaving it.) As if on queue my bride strolls in just in time to witness my heinous mutilation (of course freaks out and tells me I should never shave with a straight razor again...Yeah, right) I mumble something about not the razor it's the operator and proceed with a second pass. Other than that, a pretty good shave.

This is the first time I've shaved with this W&B wedge since I made new Ebony scales for it. This was not an easy task since I had to put a bushing in the blade pivot hole and then did my first CA finish. All in all I think it turned out okay and as usual for a W&B, it shaves very well. The wedge is Brazilian Cherry.

ETA Once I get all the glue off of my fingers, I'll see if I can get a better picture.

This is a rare thing for me, but I've used the same straight razor twice in a row. This Charlex lately has been my favorite and I've been reaching for it more than all other razors.

Proraso Aloe Vera & Green Tea shaving soap
    Semogue 2 band badger brush
    Charlex 60 straight razor
    Proraso aftershave splash
    444 aftershave balm

Funny how your favorites just seem to call out to you, isn't it?? I have the same problem with a Puma.

Strop: Herold Razor Strop (Model 9185)

    Comments:
I have never tried a floral shave cream before except Lavender. This Rose cream lathers like a champ and smells awesome. It is a floral scent like a rose bouquet. Very nice.

    Have a nice day, gents

Angel, is that a Mont Blanc pen case you are using to store your razor in? Good idea, I like your style.

I agree with your sentiments with regards the TOBS Rose, it's great.

    Prep:Hot Towel
    Scuttle:Dirty Bird Custom Double
    Brush:TGN 30 mm in R/B M3
    Strop:SRD PIV
Uber:Tabac cream, Tabac soap, 5 drops glycerin
    Razor: Boker King Cutter
    After shave: C.O. Bigelow “Mentha”
    EDT: Polo Blue

Result: 2 passes with the Boker this morning. I hadn't used the Tabac uber-lather in a while. I'm sure glad I did as it provided excellent cushion and glide, resulting in a very smooth and comfortable shave.

Have a great day gentlemen! -Glenn-
