Overslept, but what a wonderful way to kick start the day!

Glenn, I like the choice for your first outing in the bow tie. I just hope your SWMBO was more receptive to it than Hiroko is!

Of course, Carl is right, you have to pair the bow tie with some nice cufflinks! Sadly, my collection of links has stalled, as I've not had time to look for some really fun ones lately...

Thanks gentlemen. This time around I didn't happen to wear it with cufflinks. I received my Grandfather's cufflinks a few months ago and have a few other pairs (Thanks for the offer Carl, you are a true gentlemen!), but I haven't upgraded the wardrobe with French Cuffed shirts yet (I have 2 so far). SWMBO was a bit apprehensive at first, however, I think she's coming around.

Sorry to hear about your grandson. Hope everything is ok.

    Prep: Hot shower + Proraso
Brush: New forest knot in old barbers handle
    Razor: Kamisori, Tosuke
    Soap: MdC
    AS: Mennen SB
    Strops: Neil Miller
    Result: Very, very clean

POINTY SHARP! My God, even though I was ultra careful, I still got a nick, right before I was finished. But on the other hand some areas of the face hasn't been this soft and clean since I was a toddler, really.

    ... and some coffee:

... wicked pointy sharp, it's almost like the point can bend and nick you around a corner

LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL. This really made my day/night Amund. I can already see Max rolling over in laughter too

Good luck with the grant writing. Don't forget that at least an hour of every day should be yours just to think about or do whatever you want to. Remember, don't take life too seriously, after all none of us are leaving it alive. See ya when I see ya!
    Thanks GI,
You're absolutely right...That's why I spend a little time in the AM and PM with you guys here, scanning these wonderful posts. Not to mention my AM "ME times" in the den with my straights. As it happens, wife put her foot down last night and and said: "We're going out Friday night...Like it or not", LOOOOOOOL. Well, that is that. A man's gotta do what a man's gotta do, right?

It so happens that today is one of my friend's/colleague's surprise 60th birthday & we're invited to celebrate it at Caltech's Atheneum. I love this place....haven't been in such a loooong time. It would be nice to get out in public and see (and be seen), LOOOL. I am sure once there, the wives will start complaining about the amount of time their husbands spend with their mistresses (e.g., grants, proposals, writings, etc...). My wife is the only one in the bunch who's a 200% behind me with my "extramural" affairs so to speak, LOOOOOL.

Hang in there buddy. The deadline for submitting that grant will be over in a few weeks.

Then you can relax, kick back and rejoin the SOTD Brotherhood in full force.
    Thanks Monroe,
It is a chore, but it really helps focus the mind and sharpen the idea...so, helps me a lot. It is like a business proposition you're selling.

Fortunately for me, I no longer have to deal with the red tape from the institutional side. I am doing this via my start-up. One deadline over in a few weeks, but many more loom...however, they are more spread out and life will get back to its normal routine soon.

    Carl,
This news really saddens me...especially when it comes to kids. I hope he's OK.

As you may know, this community has developed a special bond with Grant (aka, baldy) and his little angel (aka, Little Jack or Jackie as many of us have come to know him). In effect, we have all become "long distance" adoptees of this very special boy. I am sure I speak for all of us here when I say that we would love to have your little angel included in this extended (often crazy) family of ours and welcome anything you can share of him (but it's a personal choice and totally up to you...no pressure mate)

You finally decided to make the leap of faith, eh Mikael, LOOOOL? Congrats buddy and yeap, that nick is her way of saying hello. She is wickedly pointy and out for blood but once tamed, she's a special one for sure.

OK...It's 5:00AM here...I better get back to bed and get some zzzz before waking to a nice shower & shave in a few.

    Cheers,
    Robert
