A Relaxing Friday Shave!!!
.
.Locale: The place the wife say's I must share, or else! Music: ZZ Tops - Fandango Prep: Hot Shower / Hot Lather Soak Razor: 5/8 Dixon 'Improved Eagle' by Don Belanger, with my trusty Spike standing by! Hones: Touched up on the 8k, PHIG, then the 12k Perfection to a very nice polished edge 20/50 on the strop. Brush: Tweezerman Boar / Lather Bowl #1 Post: Cold Water - Alum Uber: RazoRock XXX + Spieck = Uber Failure today. I Won't be trying this combo again! AS: Lucky Tiger AF Edc: Brut Original Scent Result: The belly was full, the whiskers had just barely grown, but I had to have a shower and shave just to resume normalcy. I love my Eagle razor and wanted to let her have a go out of the collection today. The Spike has never failed to impress, so it is one of my favorite standby's. No bad shaves for me, ever again if possible. One razor just not doing it? I'm grabbing another one. That one suck? Grab another. LOL. I Joke.. She gave a great shave, no other razor required! The lather was a fail though. I do not recommend that combo. It was weak, and did not smell all that great either. Another experiment, another lesson to log away in the database. Lucky Tiger and Brut are a wife pleaser every time.
Happy Shaving!!!!
Mike-- Any day I get out of bed, and the first thing out of my mouth is not a groan, that's going to be a good day --

11-26-2011, 06:37 AM #249Friday Evening at the TOBS Shaving Shop
Prep: Hot shower Razor: TI 6/8 Le Canadien Inclined Nose Black Horn Strop: SRD 3" Black Latigo 50/100 Brush: Frank Shaving Richmond 28mm Silvertip Scuttle: Robert Becker #9 Black Lather: TOBS Shaving Shop AS: TOBS Shaving Shop ASB: TOBS Shaving Shop Cologne: TOBS Shaving Shop Comments: It ended up being a quick, two-pass shave this evening as I was getting ready for an event. Of course, I got careless and dinged myself on the chin with the spike point of the razor. TOBS Shaving Shop was a bit strong at first, but it settled down to that old-school, soapy shaving cream scent which is a winner. SWMBO approves and it will become part of my rotation. Noob Chronicle will have to wait until tomorrow. Happy Friday, SOTD Brothers!

Razor: Wacker 'Old Sheffield' 6/8 full hollow
Strop: Neil Miller linen and cordovan (20/60)
Brush: Rooney 'Beehive' small
Soap: Joris
A/S balm: Penhaligon's 'Opus 1870'
Love 'Opus 1870' but it's strong (pepper!), - 'try before you buy'!
Have a great Saturday!
