Took out my "Maximized" Celebrated W&B for a spin and she delivered on the dime. The edge was amazingly sharp, yet so smooth. No wonder W&B are amongst some the best shavers out there. As for lather, I opted for some Rose scented delight. The combination of the CS and SRD Roses was just spot on:y. These must be amongst the best of the best as far as software is concerned, especially the SRD soap (it is probably one of the best glycerin soaps ever madehttp://badgerandblade.com/vb/images/...ys/001_wub.gif). Smooth as butter and loving it:y. These are the moments that remind us why it is GREAT to be a Man.

AS: Nivea Double Action Balm
Finish: Aqua Velva Classic
Tried to whip this cream up in a mug with the baby oil gel but I think I used to much water because within seconds it looked about like skim milk. From there I decided to just use the baby oil gel as a preshave (like I often do) and apply the Barbasol over the top. This seemed to work out fine and was plenty slick for the straight razor. The last time I used it, this razor's edge was OK but starting to get a little muddy. A quick touch up yesterday morning obviously resolved that. The edge was crisp and very effective today. One pass was good enough for a holiday afternoon. SWMBO has decided she loves the smell of Aqua Velva. This works perfectly because I like to use it as well.

The ratio can be a bit tricky as you need to kill the lather a little bit but not so much that you liquify it. Keep trying it from time to time. Once you get it figured out it becomes very good for straight razor use.Quote:

so I kept everything the same from yesterday to make an accurate judgement in the difference from the frameback and the 1/4 hollow. Slightly harsh today and not BBS by a long shot. a good shave but I am really noticing the change of not having my higher grit finish hones. Technique means a bunch to the shave but a good high grit hone helps a bunch too! I AM SPOILED!!!!
