Default Sun February 19th - Sat February 25th

    Location: 36° 0'5"N - 115° 15' 21"W
    Razor: Palmera 14
    Brush: Simpson PJ3 - 2 band
    Soap: SRD Bulgarian Rose
    Astringent: Thayers Witch Hazel
    Coral Skin Food: GFT Rose
    EDC: Hollister SoCal

It had been a while since I took my Palmera 14 for a spin so I gave it a good stropping on 50 linen, 50 red latigo and 50 horsehide. Lathered up with the amazing Bulgarian Rose from SRD and mowed away those whiskers in no time. Sealed it all with some Coral Skin Food and a final spritz of Hollister's SoCal. Got a very nice compliment from the wife and a happy wiggling tail from Vivi.

Gents, rise and shine. Get in gear as the new SOTD is up.

    Strop: MIckR's Roo Hide
    Brush: Silvertip Badger In Cocobolo
    Soap: Cella
    Razor: John Hassall 6/8 wedge
    Toner: Thayer's Lemon Witch Hazel
    Balm: Nivea Replenishing
    A/S: Wahl Bay Rum
I haven't shaved since Monday night, so for me it was a choice between the Wade & Butcher and the John Hassall, my two favorites for dealing with heavy growth.
I went with the later, seeing it seems to get out less than the W&B.
A great choice, It sliced through those whiskers like a one day growth. I went all the way for a 3 pass BBS.
A fantastic way to start the SOTD week

Last night I took the first step towards becoming a bladesmith. Fired up my home made forge and got my first experience working with hot steel.
There are a few pics on this thread for anyone interested

Thanks for all the great posts and pics boys. Have a great week.

The Max Otte is such a refined razor, so smooooth and so sharp, She delivered a first class shave on this bright but cold sunday morning.

    Unhurried, comfortable and relaxing shave.
More snow, I'm tired of the winter.

    Hot shower
    Warm oil
    Dirty Bird Custom Double
    Custom Badger Brush
Truefitt and Hill Almond Shave Cream
Brian Brown Custom, 8/8, 1/4 hollow on Bocote
    Razorock Aluminum
    Pinaud Bay Rum
    Vaseline for men

First time shaving with this razor. The custom double is so big the Truefitt and Hill created a small mountain of sweet smelling lather. The razor was just superb so I ended with a favorite, Bay Rum.

The craftsmanship on the razor is just superb.

That's a lovely Palmera, and the shave sounds divine, but I'm wondering what kind of tale Vivi told...
He saw a lawyer killing a viper on a dunghill hard by his own stable; And the Devil smiled, for it put him in mind of Cain and his brother Abel.

    Razor – Russian, “Stalingrad”
    Brush – Semouge Custom badger
    Soap – Mitchell Wool Fat
    AST – ALUM
    AS – Modine’s BoomBoom juice

    Good morning all;
One of my Russian razors was called to action today. A fast smooth shave was the result. I paired it with the MWF soap which I had never used before. I like it very much. The Semouge brush was an acquisition from the classified section and I could not be happier. Check out the beautiful abalone cap on the handle. It’s a big brush that holds soap like a mop.
