Well the trip to Sydney Children's Hospital was a little anti-climactic.
The conversation we had with the doctors a few weeks ago was that Jack would be finishing his Chemo on Monday night, having a bone marrow test on Tuesday and that would be the end of his treatment.
When we saw the professor on Tuesday he decided to continue the Chemo for another 8 weeks. Its not a big deal, and I know its in his best interest, but the whole family was mentally prepared to be finished with the Chemo yesterday, we even had celebrations planned for when we arrived home today.
Plus being back in the kids cancer ward was MUCH harder than I expected. Seeing all the new faces, the next generation of kids and their families going down that road was awful, I was fighting tears the whole time.
Sorry to sound so bummed guys, Its just I've been putting on a brave face and a positive attitude for 2 years and 2 days, and some days this shit just gets to you.
Talk to me on Friday after we get the all clear on the bone marrow test and I'm sure I'll be much happier.
...Anyway a quality shave helped improve my mood.
I went with some old friends. The Proraso was my first good soap, the Gotta was one of my first razors, the Illinois my first strop.
All ingredients from the pre-Leukemia days. I found some comfort in that.
3 great passes for a fantastic BBS
