Friday

What an EXCELLENT shave! One of those to rave about…

I gave the De Pews a trip on the Shapton 16k this afternoon; just 15 or so laps.

I decided on ‘Sukin’ facial moisturiser as a pre-shave. The moisturiser contains too many oils to list; but it’s an impressive line-up.

An Überlather with Faulding ‘Shave’ cream, Bald Frog ‘Wake up Rosemary’ soap and just a drop of glycerine absolutely exploded with hardly any water added at all. I think normally the cheap, but fantastically scented and quite adequately performing, Faulding ‘Shave’ cream can be used straight from the tube. In fact that’s how I used to use it at times with a Bic in the shower. Today, with the Bald Frog soap and glycerine it astonished.

The De Pews performed really, really nicely, which is fulfilling as it took me so long to hone it. It now has a really nice (I think) wide bevel, with some patina remaining. I was going to sand the scales, but I actually like it a little shabby looking.

I could have done more than one pass, but considering it’s half past three in the afternoon, I think one is enough.

For the remainder of the afternoon I’m going to lie languidly on the lounge with ‘Leaves of Grass’ fallen opened on my lap and listen to audio cassette tapes of English Victorian Poetry watching the sun dip below the peak of Mount Torrens…

Maybe a glass of Cabernet Merlot with one of my own apples from one of my trees and some cheese?
