Thanks, Joe. It is new. My first go with a non-folding western style straight. The first shave was a bit akward as I just didn't know how I wanted to grip it. Today was BBS in two passes...

Haven't posted on SOTD for quite a while(laziness, not business:) ) but felt the need to share today. Picked up this Robeson for $5. Cleaned it up a bit and honed it, finishing on my new, vintage translucent Arkie. There's just something about New York steel honed on an Arkie. Incredibly sharp. Add in the Palmolive and this was one fantastic shave.

Prep: Hot Shower/ AOS oil
Brush: AOS Pure Badger
Scuttle: G5
Soap: MNS Orange/Cedarwood/ Black pepper
Razor: Otto Busch #137 in Red G10
Post: Proraso AS/ Nivea Lotion unscented
Result: With the warm forecast, I thought a citrusy shave was in order. MNS Orange was the perfect to fill the order, the soap exploded out of the bowl with a bright Orange scent. Followed by my rescaled Otto Busch it was a Great Friday shave! The scales are going to have to come off again though, still slightly heavy and throws the balance off a bit.

Saturday
A late afternoon shave after spending the day painting floorboards. I was going for an old fashioned white-washed look, I’m not sure it worked.
After the foray into handyman activities the relaxing shave using the Wade and Butcher while listening to The Beatles, Let it Be album was just superb…

No pic today.
Fast three pass shave with a Gillette aristocrat travel/7 o'clock yellow/castle Forbes Lime/ 21mm travel brush.
First time I have ever face lathered in three years of str8's and DE. Interesting and functional but less enjoyable then a scuttle. Not bad for an 03f$&@ing hundred shave after getting to sleep at 0100. Oh the joys of command!!!
