Today I shaved with my first custom restored razor. I have messed around with some others for practice but this one I felt was worth the effort. I purchased purple heart for the scales. I have a simple 'shop' which was located on my back porch. I used a dremel, a coping saw and some elbow grease to finish up the scales. I went from 60 all the way to 2000 grit sand paper. You cannot tell from the pics but it does have a nice finish. I applied some Howard's Feed-n-Wax as a final step. I honed it on my Norton 4k/8k combo this morning. I only thing I did to the blade is apply some MAAS. I think in this case the blade was in good condition and did not warrant any aggressive treatments. There are some stains on it but I think it gives it a little soul. The shave went fairly well. I still have trouble spots around the bottom of my neck and around my chin but I am still learning.

I am a huge baseball fan, and as such I have collected quite a bit of baseball memorabillia along the way. Most of it is packed away at the moment as I don't really have anywhere to display it. I also have a closet completely full of baseball cards. Probably my biggest collection of all.:)
