Thanked: 346Once I got my first CO paddle I quickly gave up on the AC. It may be sharper but CO really puts a special edge on the razor. 0.5 micron diamond puts a similar edge on the razor, but it's a harsher feeling edge, and I don't think it's *quite* as sharp as the CO either.
The Heljestrand I shaved with this morning got two laps on the CO just before the shave, and it just wiped the whiskers off, even the tough ones on my chin.Last edited by mparker762; 11-20-2006 at 04:52 PM.

I felt some resistance in the heavily stubbled area (more than with the AC less than after N8K) but obviously no tugging. It was just a dream, especially for the chin area

Thanked: 9Mystery razor shave
I am thinking we may spice things up a bit with collecting guesses on the tools and accessories used... Tonight I'll disclose the price I paid for the Mystery Razor - $60, and the grind - a tad thicker than a full hollow. You send in the guesses, if you care, that is
3 days' growth
hot shower
KMF olive + aloe soap
Neutrogena shave prep wash
Little Cutie (my new ivory 18mm super from Matt)
Tabac
Tony M strop
6/8 Mystery Razor honed by me
Trumper's alum block
Lucky Tiger AS Toner
Had at least 5 razors I had never tried, and several I had tried and then touched up... Notably, W&B 8/8 Barber's Use, 13/16 Engstrom frameback and 7/8 Smith & Hawksley wedge touch-ups, never-tried 5/8 Wonderedge, 6/8 Joesph Rodgers wedge, etc.
Mystery Razor did not disappoint, wiping the growth easily with a 9+ shave, and placed straight at the top of my rotation. 2 miniscule nicks, no red spots even after the alum block despite the fact that my skin can be a bit sensitive to Tabac sometimes.
Cheers
Ivo

Tuesday!
Garantie Solingen 6/8 Straight (scales by Robert Williams), Simpson The Duke 2 badger brush. Missing...the shaving cream. I received my SCS package today and had to decide between Minted Chocolate and Shea Butter with Avocado Oil shaving creams. Finally, I flipped a coin...Shea Butter is the winner!

Shower
50/50 badger bear brush by Kent
TAGMSC soap (improved version)
Kruisuis with Purpleheart 5/8
TAGMSC aftershave
Opus 1870 cologne by penhaligon
It was very good. This little 5/8 that I got from ToxIk has yet to let me down. Also the Arizona Goat Milk Soap Company has improved their shaving soap and when I ordered a bunch of soaps from them they gave me the shaving soap for free to see if it had really improved. And it has. The lather get thicker now, (big fluffy lather cloads) and stays longer on the face withouth being absorbed by the skin. If you haven't tried this stuff before you should now. I really love it. More so even than I did before they improved it.
