    Today's feast was:

    13/16" Dorman Dutch Rattler
Cella & Tabac with Glycerin in my 2 quart lather bowl
24mm Custom Silvertip in American Ash
    Aqua Velva
    Brut

Great shave!! Held off for 2 days for a good growth which always makes the shave so much more enjoyable for me. The dutch rattler is rapidly becoming one of my favorites, it's large, smooth and give very quiet feedback. It removes blemishes painlessly and only the spot of blood shows where it once was, LOL.

    Have a great weekend gents!!

Great shave! Threw on another Amouage Attar today and still smell's fantastic. Amazing how the attar's and solognes have become a passion for me. Kind of couples with the whole grooming thing.

    Friday

Friday’s shave posted late. I’ve just returned from a camping trip. I had an excellent two days; not a spot of rain, clear skies, but cold. We didn’t stray far from the fire; drank a carton of beer and solved many work social problems. Sat in the sun in arguably the best spot on earth (arguably, for me, at that point in time) and got some vitamin D. I WAS going to shave on a rocky outcrop jutting into the Southern Ocean, but being tied by an invisible string to the fire, carton of beer and responsibility of solving the world’s social problems and a poor attempt at it sat at a table put that idea out of the question.

This was my worse shave ever with a straight. The little plastic mirror I salvaged from my army camo kit sucked. The lather sucked, the prep sucked; I stropped on my belt. I discarded the plastic mirror for the rear vision mirror ripped from my car; which enabled much better (and less dangerous) results. Then my brother (right at the end) mentioned he’d bought a shaving mirror, fixed it to a tree and I finished the shave standing, as normal.

I know this sounds really obvious, but a well placed mirror make all the difference. I shall buy a shaving mirror.

PS, it took us at LEAST an hour to get the rear vision mirror back on the car...
