Thanked: 485Sunday
There’s a possum living in a room off my shed. Years ago, this house used to be a ‘shack’; a weekend cottage. You can still see where they had the stove in the room we call the ‘secret room’; the roof has caved in and it’s covered in ivy. The possum is living in a cardboard box; I’m sure it has babies in there. It’s very meek and mild. I’m quite chuffed to have a possum living in there.
The afternoon shave was in my bedroom, at my little table with my antique wash set. Shaving here changes things up immensely. It’s amazing how the low light and small space takes things to a whole new level. Only the second shave here. The shave here takes longer than in the bathroom; but now I’ve changed jobs I’ve actually got time to shave here each morning. It’ll be a slow transition, though, from the bathroom. I intended to listen to music as I shaved, but as I was getting ready my wife called me a ‘strange little man’. I said ‘No I’m not’ and then said ‘Do you want to come and watch me shave?’. She replied, ‘No, you’re not strange at all, are you?’ Anyway, as it turned out, she did indeed watch part of the shave and, when leaving, reiterated that I was a strange little man. Really, to be honest, I can’t really disagree…

Good morning Gentlemen!
Shave prep: Face wash
Brush: Omega boar
Soap: Mitchell's Wool Fat
Scuttle: Robert Becker large
Razor: Wade & Butcher, 6/8 smiling wedge in wood scales
Strop: nun2sharp's hanging leather strop
After Shave Splash: English leather home made splash
Notes: What a joy today's shave was. First shave with this razor, (the restore thread is here), and I've wanted to use it since I recieved it scale-less and grimy a long time ago. I could finally hone it up yesterday. The shave was as expected, smooth smooth, and sharp as ever. To celebrate it's maiden voyage as part of my rotation I tried to stay in a british theme, with Da Fat providing the suds and some English Leather splash. Yummy shave

In my garden, whit 3 straights restored freshly from the day !
Sound track : the "cigales"
After shave "eau d'émeraude" from a old recepe from the XVII, manufactured by monks in a monastry.
Soap "gentelman and officer" Trumper, a great classic
A square point heljestrand 6/8, an old wedge (around 1870) made by Prevost in the famous town Bordeaux, in 4/8, very sweet razor, just like the famous wine, and a French rond point Kabrand 5/8, I have just never be desapointed by this brand (just as Hospitalet), in my country we do not make only tremendous wine, but also very fine razors !Last edited by charlie48horlogerie; 08-13-2012 at 03:48 PM.
