Default Week of Sept 16 SOTD - Sunday

    Pre-Shave: Hot shower
Brush: 28mm Rodney Neep Extra dense Silvertip Badger w/ African Soapstone
Razor: 15/16" BARTMANN #504, Worked spine, Full Hollow Ground, Round point
Honing: 30 laps w/slurry on Shapton 12K + 35 laps w/ Nagura slurry on Maruka Asagi
Strop: 0/0/0 laps (Neil Miller Linen / Imperial Shave Pegasus III Cordovan Latigo / Horsehide leather)
Überlather: CarrieM "Lilac" Shave Creme + Mama Bear's "Lilac + Patchouli" Shave Soap + Glycerin + 2 drops of liq. lanolin
    Astringent: Thayer's Witch Hazel
After Shave Splash: Floïd Spanish Blue AS
    Cologne: Floïd Spanish Blue EdT
Results: What a week. Hadn't shaved since Tuesday and today had to be special. I decided to use a Lilac and Patchouli über combo. Mama Bear produces some of the most marvelous artisan shave soaps out there. It ranks amongst the top performers in my book . The RN brush whipped up a rich and luxurious lather that was out of this world with a scent that was equally hypnotizing. The Bartmann is a superb shaver. After refreshing her edge on the stones, she took on a keen and ultra smooth edge. Took her straight to my face without stropping. This shave was super nice and comfortable.

Have an AMAZING Sunday gentlemen .

    Cheers,
    Robert

Gentlemen, the great Jane Austen said in her novel Emma: "One half of the world cannot understand the pleasures of the other." Which perfectly frames the pleasures of wet shaving with the straight razor that half the world cannot understand — except for those of us who experience it daily. With that in mind, here is today's shave menu:

Razor: Paul Schulze 5/8 round point
    Brush: Rooney best
    Cream: Castle Forbes lavender
    Pre-shave: Castle Forbes
    Scuttle: Moss
    Face lather
    Alum
    Witch hazel
    Balm: Intitute Karite
    Aftershave: Coldinava (Italian lavender)

Torrey 146, stropped 20/60 on the Illinois 127
    Tabac cream, Conk badger
    Pinaud Clubman

Three passes, DFS. The cool, fall air felt good afterward.
