Deposition day: I was up early, and needed something to really wake me up after the long week I've been having. So, I reached for a soap that rarely comes out - La Toja Manantiales. The Thäter whipped up such a creamy lather, and the Kikuboshi quickly erased what little stubble there was. Like a deft counsel, the Lucido soothed the skin and inspired confidence. The Villoresi Piper Nigrum, with its peppery base served to remind me that today is not about compromise, it is about being clear that our side is the best!

Thanked: 146Proraso preAlthough this razor is honed out at the toe, after I got down to some good steel it provides a deceptively smooth shave! Outstanding pics this week!

No time for a pic today but the Imperial did a fantastic job. A great start to a finally Friday. P.S. SWMBO smells me this morning and says, "I like that one, it doesn't smell like an old man. "Last edited by 1OldGI; 10-19-2012 at 11:34 AM.

Friday face feast!!! :)
A wonderful Friday Shave!!
I just acquired a near mint Chrome Gem Micromatic TTO with a bunch of new SE blades, original GEM blades, and have been somewhat enjoying the respite from my straights. However, tonight, having both the opportunity and the motive, decided that a hot shower and a slow shave was specifically in order for the finale to this looooonnnnggggg week. I didn't want to totally deny myself the specific pleasure that 2 or 3 days growth disappearing in 1 pass with my 6/8 WB India Steel in Dogbone Maple scales. Followed up with a touch up ATG with my new SE. So here we go...
Pre: Hot shower, hair conditioner soak
Soap: RazoRock Artisan Boston Tea Party
Brush: 24mm Silvertip in Honey Locust
Razors: 6/8 WB Dogbone, GEM Micromatic with Gem Blue Star SE Blade
Post: Alum rub, witch hazel
AS: Aqua Velva Musk
Edt: Stetson (SWMBO's favorite)
Result: So close, even SWMBO remarked how soft and smooth my face felt. Doing the ATG pass with the SE made this one of the closest shaves I've ever had. The GEM is a very aggressive razor, and with a new edge to it, removed anything that remotely got in the way. I was left with a couple of weepers, and a strip of missing top layer on my adams apple. But, wow, despite all that, it was a terrifically close shave. The W&B performed admirably on the first pass, smooth and sans tug. Much less aggressive than the SE. All in all, a wonderful Friday Evening Shave!
Have a wonderful weekend all!!!

10-19-2012, 11:20 AM #9QCS Key Lime - Semogue 830 - Zebra Wood Bowl - Rolls Razor - Floid Blue
Day 4 with the Rolls and this time the blade was honed on lapping film. From 12 micron down to 1 micron - I've cut the film so it fit's into the Rolls case it can be used using the Rolls honing system.
I've been after comfort for the blade and comfort was easily delivered. It was so much more comfortable than yesterday (and yesterday wasn't too bad honestly). It delivered a shave just as comfortable as most of my straight razors and with the speed of my DE. I still prefer shaving with a straight razor but this does provide a very nice compromise for a rushed shave.
I do now want to try hone it on my coticule - the size of the blade makes it's awkward to hone it outside of it's honing system. That will have to wait until I get my coticule back however.Keith
