Prep: Hot Shower
Scuttle: Schwarzweisskeramik

Astringent: Osma Alum
Aftershave: TOBS No.74 Victorian Lime

Result: Nice smooth shave. BBS except for a bit under the chin due to being slightly hurried.
The razor was a beater I bought to see what the fuss was about Clauss blades. It can take a good edge - after cleaning, I followed a Chosera 1k, Coticule, JNat, Y/G Escher progression. The microscope showed the usual bright saw-toothed line at 100x that I often see, so I put it under a few laps on a La Lune Special Stone. That helped eliminate it and bring the razor to full sharpness.
Stropped on a Kanyama "3" shell strop for a couple hundred laps and had a very nice, smooth shave. Edge as expected is a little deformed afterwards.
Razor: John Heiffor

Cold water face lathered shave. Stupendous shave after yesterday's W&B debacle. The real surprise was just how good the Kiss My Face soap was as I bought it on a flyer. Have a good weekend.

Yeah, it is a 'scruffy' leather or fluffy leather. It is almost like suede. I like it very much. I am not sure I would use it as an everyday but I am still experimenting. I am using the TI paste on the brown side and leaving the black side plain. I have shaved a few times without going to my hanging strop. It seems to work ok. All and all, I like it for the esthetics too.

Nice relaxing Sunday morning, what better way to start.
First time I stepped in the bathroom with a straight in a looooong time today. Reason is, I took some pictures of my straights and decided it'd be fun. And since it has been a slow day, it things were not going as I wished, I could always change plans and won't be all upset for the rest of the day.
So, I picked my queen, gave it a few laps on the leather strop and gave it a go!

Did only the first cheek : it needs to meet with mister hone (it's been a long time since it has last seen a coticule). Oh well, I finished with my Merkur 37c loaded with an Astra SP, and got very close, very smoothly. It was so nice to get the feeling of the straight again. I'll certainly start to use my straights more often again.
By the way, shaving cream was Proraso, so was the pre-shave, and I finished with La Maison du Savon de Marseille AS Balm. Brush : Semogue 610.
Ok, this is from yesterday when I didn't have time to post:

First test of the W&B after having it honed (thanks Dimitry!!!). A great shaver, good feedback from the blade, slightly heavier than my Dovo.
