    MONDAY “WASHINGTON’S BIRTHDAY”/”President’s Day”
    Hot shower prep
    Razor: Pal adjustable injector
    Soap: VdH
    Mug: Soup cup
    Brush: generic mixed badger
    Aftershock: Alum block
    Splash: Captain’s Choice Bay Rum
The Day: overcast and 2ºC. The Shave: Ok but i was razor testing prior to the final with the Pal. I do not know about anyone else, but there are times a razor has to go back to the hones a few times to get the edge right. Both the rescued Pipe and the Jnat Frame back show a hair popping edge and shave...but...and it is a big one...the edges are not yet comfortable to shave with.
The fun of trying things makes the day go a bit better and quicker!

I have experienced that problem a few times also, Richard. I found that many times I had not gone long enough on the bevel set to get to some 'good' steel. Seems like the edge was sharp and would crumble away. I have seen this caused by oxidation at the edge, sometimes this will look like microchipping and it's just bad steel. Have another go at it, and good luck.
