Late night shave with the new razor-a Le Grelot. Is that right? I mean I am writing 'a the bell', you know? It just sounds ridiculous. Anyway, I also tried out La Toja shaving stick, not bad stuff. You can get great soaps on the cheap. I was thinking about getting some MDC but the Le Grelot busted my budget. Man, there I go again. I just typed 'the the bell'. Anyway, It was not quite 'shave ready' but it only needed a few strokes with some paste. I am scared to take this to the stones. This is my first big boy razor. Well, next up might be a custom or not. Maybe a Kamisori will strike my fancy. All and all, The Bell did a great job at whacking the whiskers away. Happy as I can be.

    Hi guys!

Today’s shave was provided by this wonderful 6/8 Gotta 120 – A razor that seems to be abundant in New Zealand (Gotta and Bengall must have had NZ sewn up back in the day). Good examples are hard to find of course, so I was very happy when I found this one in need of nothing more than a little rust removal and a hone.

The shave was great (last finished on a Naniwa 12K) but I think I will run it over my Zulu for next time just to gauge the difference. Here’s the breakdown:

    Razor: 6/8 Gotta 120
Brush: 24mm Rudy Vey Custom in Buckeye Burl
    Strop: SRD Modular Paddle (60/100)
    Pre-shave: Truefitt & Hill Pre-shave Oil
Cream: Taylor of old Bond Street Lavender Shaving Cream
    AST: Thayer’s Original Witch Hazel
Post: Geo. F. Trumper Coral Skin Food

    Have a great week gentlemen!

    Prep L'Occitane Verbena Soap
    Razor Dubl Duck Goldedge 6/8
    Strop Kanayama Cordovan #8000
Brush Semogue OC LE 2012 Boar & Badger Mix
    Cella Crema Da Barba
    Alum & Witch Hazel
    L'Occitane Baux Balm
    L'Occitane Baux Edt

I've been having a bit of a L'Occitane Baux fest with my last few shaves, as I'm just coming to the end of the Edt and the balm I thought I may as well finish it off, the shave was excellent a two pass superb BBS finish delivered by the Dubl Duck.

I haven't shaved since last Sunday, and I was looking forward to this shave.
I chose the Invicta because it's one of my best shavers, and I knew it would be up to the task.
Result: A fantastic 3 pass BBS to kick off the week

Thanks for the great posts and pics gentlemen and have a great week
