Prep: None
Scuttle: Schwarzweisskeramik
Brush: Thater 4124/00 2-band fan
Razor 1: Bismarck 11/16" hollow ground
Razor 2: Fisher '42' 5/8" quarter hollow
Cream: St James of London Cedarwood & Clarysage
Astringent: Osma Alum
Aftershave: St James of London Cedarwood & Clarysage
Eau de Toilette: Penhaligon's English Fern
Notes: A half and half shave test. The Bismarck was honed for a friend of a friend and it was a bit keener than I'm used to - some weepers & minor cuts came as a result, but BBS still. Good stiff steel.
I'd touched up the Fisher as a starter razor for my friend, but not quite there. No scars but not quite BBS either.
The Bismarck was honed up on a Chosera 1-5-10k progression and then 16 passes on a Lakeside barber hone, before stropping.
The Fisher had been honed on a JNat - I tried to refine the edge on a Lyn Idwal, before moving onto some Special Stones.

So you figure a baby shower is something innocent. Well, except when it is hosted by my sister's drinking buddy. I was pulled in by the cries of 'drink bitch!' How could I resist? I guess since my sister could not drink; me and my brother were surrogates. Anyway, now I remember why I should not drink. The shave was a quiet reprieve from the banging in my head. From their stillness came their non-action...Doing-nothing was accompanied by the feeling of satisfaction, anxieties and troubles find no place

I thought I would get my Shave Of The Evening in before Gooser shows up with another one of his "fishing while shaving" posts.
Yes,,,Gooser,,,I'm talking about you & that baby catfish you showed us last week. The eyes on that catfish were so cloudy, I know it was sitting on ice for weeks, in some fish market.
Here in South Florida we don't catch baby catfish, we wrestle gators !!
I caught this one in the canal behind my house, subdued it with my bare hands, taped it's mouth shut & forced it to watch me shave.
Shave Of The Evening
Brush: Thiers-Issard blond horn & badger
Razor: Maher & Grosh "The Trusty Razor"
Cream: Jack Black
followed by Shavex alum bar, Thayers Lavender Witch Hazel
Thank you for looking.
