Thanked: 0Choosing a safety razor for a woman
I was looking into buying a safety razor for my girlfriend for a gift. I peaked her interest about one when I told her how economical they were and helped with razor burn. I in particular, shave with a straight edge razor. I dont think a straight edge would be a good choice for her. The reason is knives scare her and I don't think a straight edge would do much better. I know that you must take weight of the safety razor and how aggressive the blade is into consideration. She mainly would be using it both legs and bikini area work. So what is a good starter for her.

Thanked: 983Don't you love these personal choice questions?! Muhle (most models), Good Fella (Only one style, two colours though), Merkur 20C, 23C, 30C or a Barber Pole (I think the longer, slimmer handle designs would be more suited for ladies).
Don't forget to get a decent blade sample pack to go with whatever razor you order for her, so she can find a blade that suits her tastes.

Sleeplessmind:
I suggest the Muhle rose gold with its distinct stand for your girlfriend. This is a beautiful razor and a fine mid-range shaver. The Muhle and the Edwin Jagger shave heads were designed jointly by Edwin Jagger and Muhle. The shave heads are now manufactured separately.

Thanked: 983Yes, I thought about suggesting that particular razor specifically when I saw it. Beautiful! Made for a lady I thought...Or a gentleman of fine taste .

Yes, Mick, it's a beautiful razor. I had it and passed it on to a young lady friend of a friend, who fell in love with it. By the way, I have the full set on the way: the rose gold Muhle razor, the 21 mm synthetic fiber Muhle brush with the rose gold handle and the combination chrome razor and brush stand. It's a dazzling set. I'm soft touch for beautiful things.

Thanked: 0I was thinking of picking up the Merkur 20C Long Handle before posting this. I too thought of the long handle making long strokes much easier. So I probably going to go with the 20c. Aslo
I was going to buy a blade sampler pack to see what is the best blade for her.
