Antique Shop Find
Just picked this up at an antique shop. I know it's a Gillette, but I dont know the model or year. On the bottom side of the guard, it has the old gillette logo (diamond with arrow) and under REG US it has an S, and under PAT OFF it has a 4. If anyone can tell me the model and year, I would greatly appreciate it.

After doing a bit of research, it looks to be the Knoack model of the late 60's. Not as old as I had thought, but still a cool razor. I cleaned and polished it last night, and had my first shave with it. Nice close shave!

Thanked: 67Yep that was called the Knack in the US and the 'Slim-Twist' in the UK, I think.

Does indeed look to be a Knack.

You aren't going to send it to Social Security are you? They need to cut spending, but not that way.

It's a Slim Twist. I have one that I bought new in 1984. The Knack had a black handle and the twist ring had more pronounced groves.
Look at both razors on Mr-razor.

Good judgment comes from experience, and experience....well that comes from poor judgment.
