Default My New, New DE Razor and Method Shaving

Was at my Father-in-laws house on Sunday.

They are getting ready to move to a retirement home, and he, seriously, passed me his father's absolutely chipped to the spine Piccadilly straight razor, and this little tiny tin box, about the size of a box of wooden matches, that says, "The Laurel - Ladies Boudoir Safety Razor".

The razor is about about an 1/2 inch long, even has little tiny blades in the original package in the tin.

So, since reading the thread about Method Shaving, coupled with my own fear of using the Gillette DE I recently purchased, think I'm going to use this little Boudoir razor to whip up some manifold lather and shave my various quadrants, should take me a year or so!

Wish me luck, just have to make sure I don't drop it and it goes down the drain!

It's hard to see the scale of the razor, is it about this size?

Phrank, you just panic me! I'm going to change my avatar (not really) to a picture of Sigmund Freud so I can officially get away with analyzing your Einsteinian psychosis about a DE razor. I would suggest that you develop a split personality, the other being a rough and tumble cowboy that uses cactus thorns for toothpicks. Have him emerge anytime the word double edge razor is uttered and run to the bathroom for a quick, flawless BBS DE shave.

Yup - pretty much exxactly that size.

The little razor blades in the little envelopes are hilarious! But, I guess this little razor is meant to be used, and the blades are certainly real.

Sorry, a bit tired right now, been chasing my cat around the house trying to test this thing...damn cats are fast!!

Those type of razors were meant to be used by ladies to shave certain areas. They are not designed for typical face shaving by men.

I guess the name on the tin says it all. That is why Phrank's chasing his cat around the house, though, right?

Yes...that has been said before, it's tough being me, I'm merely a poet, trapped in the body of a wrestler.

Have you ever seen the old movie North by Northwest? He gets a razor like this one on the train and uses it in the train station bathroom. The guy at the sink next to him is shaving with a straight and all but rolls his eyes at the little razor. This whole conversation reminds me of that scene.
