Default A successful 2 pass shave. And new Van der Hagen soap. And a thank you!

    Hello everybody.

I just want to thank SRP member Razorfeld for sending me 2 Van der Hagen soaps, an all America Williams soap, Mama Bears lemon soap, and Proraso Pre shave cream. I finally bought a nice white bowl, I took the flat part of the soap, wet my finger tip and ran it across the surface and pressed it hard into the bottom of the bowl, and the soap stays in place. My first reaction was "Wow". I can't beileve how good of a soap this is. Lathers real nice, I will most definitely use it again. Thank you so much Razorfeld. Your Barbus soap should be there sometime after the weekend

And as the title says, I had a very comfortable 2 pass shave, with no glowing red skin. WTG, XTG. I have definitely improved on my technique, I used a Wilkinson Sword blade used twice, and it actually shaved my face very effectively. A pack of 5 Wilkinson blades cost 0,99€ which to me is a very good price.

    Glow,

Which of these soaps was your favorite? I just ordered a Van der Hagan Soap and I am looking forward to trying it.

Glow, you are welcome. Yes the Barbus arrived and I've used it several times. Still experimenting to see what level of lather I can get just using the Barbus, but have been including a bit of it in the different uber lathers I concoct every day or so. A very generous container, should last me a very long time.

Im currently using the regular beard buster one, not the glycerin one, I'm saving that one. The soap has such a good lather, too bad I didn't get into wetshaving when I still lived in America, but the VDH soap is really creamy and slick, I very much enjoy using it. I would like to try out another razor, because the one I have at the moment is very basic (Wilkinson Sword Classic) plastic with a medal rod in the handle, you can see it because the plastic is slotted, but it's alright for a noobie like me. I am using the new Fusion ProGlide, and it's really good on my skin, and litteraly impossible to cut myself.

I usually go back and forth between the cart and DE, Im kinda getting the hang of using the DE razor actually.

I know I won't get a lot of sympothy for using carts but, they have a Wilkinson Sword Quattro Titanium cart razor where I work, and using the Gillette brand for a very long time, maybe I should try Wilkinson Sword, it has 4 titanium blades instead of 5 like on the ProGlide. And the price of the carts are very affordable for me. For a pack of 4 carts, is only 5€. For the price of 2 ProGlide carts is 12€. Which is kinda pricey. What do you all think?

    Thank you.

You should be honored that Pope Razorfeld has blessed you! I too have been fortunate to receive his blessing, and will feature a nice shave bowl he sent to me in a SOTD soon!

Razorfeld - that was very nice of you, and once again, in the spirit of this great community we have here!

    Cheers!
