The code on the bottom is L 3.
Overall it looks to be in decent shape. There is some brown crud on the handle that flakes off easily and there is shave cream residue. For about the price of a pack of cigarettes, I am happy with the purchase. Thanks for the info, gentlemen.

It's typically almost all soap residue. Shoot some of that foaming "Scrubbing Bubbles" bathtub cleaner in a bowl and drop the razor in it. When the bubbles go flat take the razor out and hit it with an old tooth brush. Just like that the razor will look good as new.

The razor cleaned up fairly well. The flare-tip needs a more detailed cleaning.

I shaved with it today(first time using a DE). It was a pretty smooth shave with some mystery blades. I was really surprised at times. I was cutting right through the stubble but couldn't hear or feel it. There is after pic in todays SOTD.

Ya that cleaned up nice. Do you know what the random blade was? My favorite DE blade for all my Gillettes is Feather, hands down. Shark takes a close second. Derbys are do-able too and at a great price in bulk. Least favorite DE blade for my mug is Merkur, they seem too thick or something and lack flex when I tighten into the TTO.

They were from a discount store chain called Dollar General and are sold as a house brand. I suspect they are re-labeled. I looked online of pics of different blade brands and the blade & magazine look most like the Personnas to me.

Bottom line is that the way you described as ' cutting right through the stubble but couldn't hear or feel it' sounds like they were great blades that work for ya.
