    Default Dema's Shave Log.

    So I figure instead of doing a sea of post I would just make a log. My first DE Shave was 4/29/14. It went better than expected. minor irratation and bleeding mostly due to angle of razor and lack of shave cream.

    Set up;

    Pre-shave: Shower
    Brush Omega
    Shave: noxzema/ CO Bigalo Shave cream
    Razor: Gillette Speed/Astra Blade
    Post: Pinuad Clubman Splash

    So I figured I would give another try at it. I am not normally a daily shaver ,hell I am usually a once a week shaver. But I like doing this so I am going to shave more often.
    First off I should have waited a day ( realized this half way through) my cheeks and upper lip went OK. I have a large goatee so I don't have to shave my whole face. (just chin area has hair ) The MAIN problem area is my neck and throat. I know the way my hair grows got it. But its matching the razor to the way that it grows with right pressure(or lack of) and skin tightness. so hence I made an offering to the the blood god tonight. Im not mad just getting in to the learning curve. half way through the shave I notice a change in the blade I probably should have changed it. the first shave with it was rough on it. lesson learned.
    Edit: In after thought I have had a few people ask how I like the CO bigalo Shave cream. I like it a lot. The smell is mellow and nice and the menthol in it does not shock your skin but cools it nicely. What I like about it is that a dolt like me. Got picture perfect cream on the first time out with it. Now with that being said.... I am a bit ocd So I have been doing my research on forums and youtube. But still the cream it self is wonderful without denting the bank. and bath and body works is ALWAYS running some kind of sale. Happy shaving!

    Necks, particularly the Adams Apple, are problematic for me also. With a DE or injector I had it down to 4 passes and a cleanup, with the out to center on the neck the last clean-up, and usually got the bbs on a tough beard.

    I have been trying to get proficient with a straight, and guess what, the same old spots on either side of the AA are the problems. Harder with a straight due to the wider blade, but, and this is just my recent experience, if you really do some skin stretching and chin contortions you can get there. Today the left neck is almost worth faceturbation ..

    SO I changed blades and cream. I used sharks double chrome blades and arko shave stick. First "shark double chrome" Cut the living shiz out of me. It was such a bad shave I should have stopped. But then I would have looked weird. Blood offering given. I know the standard things will be said.... my angle was off too much pressure. but it was not. I shiver at using another one. And in the sample pack I got another kind of shark. ::Shivers:: But anyway the Arko was amazing. Just like everyone says I love the classic smell and I see how it can be smashed it into a mug. And the pinaud was like gas lit on fire today. I am awake now.... All and all this shave sucked still have an issue with my neck. I have to learn how to shave a little differently. And the blood well it is what it is.... Happy Shaving!

    Stay patient, from what I gather with a DE it is as it is with the shavette you will find a blade that your face agrees with.
    As you mentioned angles pressure etc., certain blades with the shavette, and certain grinds on straights require something closer to a perfect technique.
    Take a day or three and heal up. Glad to hear you found a shave soap/stick you enjoy and a bonus that it does not break the bank like my MDC affliction.

    My brushes go in little spurts, they will lose a few hairs and then go a while without dropping a one.
    None the less a good brush is a great present to get.

    So I tried a different blade a Gillette Personna. I liked it. I found you need to be more precise with it and watch the edges. Something you don't do with a cart. I found that my issue with my neck was. I was not using ENOUGH pressure and stretching the skin tight enough. But there is still bleeding and irritation (see pic) Its hard stretching the skin when slick with cream. (Derp). Still am blood letting and I keep tacking this mole I have on my cheek. Styptic stick! But I thought I would throw a few pic in the mix today. Still like the CO bigalo! Happy Shaving!
