Hi guys
Hoping for a bit of help, came across this vintage set.. I haven't bought it yet but wondering about the Gillette model etc is it a good buy?
This will be my first safety razor

I believe that is want is that is what is referred to as a Gillette Tech Traveler. Seem to be a pretty basic 3 piece set-up. No reason they shouldn't shave fine.
The older I get the more I realize how little I actually know.

Not sure about that. Probably depend on the condition of the case. The razor alone - no.
Sad to think that at one time you could just put ozone of these in your pocket and fly off for a weekend.
Boy, have we screwed up things(;-(.

We don't allow appraisals of value on SRP because one opinion is no better than another. Check out ebay for completed listings on that type of razor and also for that type of set. You'll get an idea of what the actual market is for such items. Unless you're traveling frequently I'd bet you would do better with an individual razor. For a beginner to DEs the Gillette Super Speed is a nice way to begin.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.
