My Merk
Recently bought myself a Merkur Futur. While definitely recommend keeping the handle dry, I really like this shaver. My face being prone to ingrown hairs and PFB, this shaver along with Shave Secret oil as a pre shave has been comparable to my straight blade(minus the precision of course). Got this at a super price from walgreens.com.

Thanked: 1184It's nice to find things that work. Blade brand is a big factor with DEs I hear. Don't use them that much myself but I have tried a couple DEs. One brand of blade. Can't recommend them though, the price is astronomical.
Good judgment comes from experience, and experience....well that comes from poor judgment.

I like to use mild blades on aggressive razors and vice versa. I have a Futur and many other kinds of Safety Razors and the Merkur is an excellent shaver, just have to be careful when loading a new blade because sometimes it doesn´t get straight in the razor head. It can be a little tricky around the moustache area due to it´s cumbersomeness.

My merkur HD is a definite go to for me when choosing to use one of my DE's. Its a nice fast shaver an comfortable to hold.

The Future is really Merkur's flagship razor, in my opinion. It's an amazing shaver, and no one else makes anything like it.
