Personna Med Preps
I just finished my 7th shave with a Personna Med Prep. I was trying to finalize “The Blade” for my Gillette NEW Short Comb. I think I have found the right match. All 7 shaves were close, smooth, and nick free. These have been some of my best shaves with any razor or blade. YMMV
……..and yes, I am one of those that did, and continues to notice a difference between the Personna Med Preps and Personna Lab Blues, with the Med Prep being better and more consistent for me personally.

Interesting. I like the "red" better than either of the blues.

I just finished my 6th great shave with a Personna Med Prep. This time in my 40’s Style Super Speed. All 6 shaves were smooth, close, and nick free.

I have read several posts on another board about whether Preps and Labs are the same. I decided to take things in my own hands.
I did a blind test with 10 Preps and 10 Labs. I numbered the packaging randomly from 1-20. After noting the corresponding blade to its number, I shuffled them up and put them in a small tin.
To keeps things somewhat consistent I used the same razor, brush and soap. After each shave I gave a numerical rating of the overall shave experience for that day.
My conclusion: The med Prep came out on top by a small margin.
Please note that I loaded the blade without peeking so there would be no subliminal bias. Outside packing for the blades are the same.
I am Prep fan as well but recently switched back to the Feather.
Take care,
Jason

I don't often shave with a DE.
But when I do, or when I am getting someone started on the path of wet shaving - it's Persona Blue or Med Preps. I don't use them enough to be able to tell the diff.
They are great blades and a great value.

I love the persona med preps, they are a little more expensive but when you get 9 shaves nick free who cares because they work out the same as many other cheaper blades.
The only blade i have come across that is very similar for me in terms of sharpness/comfortable is the polsilver super iridium, I'm up to my 8th shave on one of these.
I have not tried the persona lab blue so cannot comment, but the persona reds (israeli's) left much to be desired
