My new favourite is the Ever Ready I won in the monthly give away. Third shave with it, BBS each time and easy to use.

My new favourite is the Ever Ready I won in the monthly give away. Third shave with it, BBS each time and easy to use.
My favourite safety razor is my Gillette Slim (3rd quarter of 1962). I use a Voskhod blade and the razor set at 8 and it is like being tickled by an angel! :)
Merkur Futur with Gillette Silver Blue. A match made in heaven if you're used to shaving with straights. That thing is a wood chopper.
Absolute favorite safety razor is a difficult call. But not to dodge the question entirely I'll say, New DE- Edwin Jagger DE89L with lined chrome extra long handle. Old DE- 1936 Gillette Aristocrat or New Type 1934 Long comb. Adjustable DE- My 1958 Fat Boy. AS for as Old SE- It's pretty much a tie between my 1915 Gem Damaskeene and my 1930 Every-Ready which I believe is actually patented off the 1912 Gem so that would make sense.
Mid 50's Gillett super speed. My first vintage de score. But I like the longer handle of my Maggards better. Over all the Gillett shaves better.

Gillette Old style Open Comb with Gillette Silver Blue blades.
Long-handled Merkur with Feather blades.
Merkur Barber pole 38C with a Feather Good strong razor worthy of its German heritage !
Out of my collection I have a few that I constantly use. Gillette Fatboy @7, Weber PH w Classic Handle, Gillette Slim, Gem or EverReady 1912, Gillette BB, Gem Micromatic OC. The Fatboy was my Dads, the Slim I've used since 1962
Muhle R41 (2011) with a Weber handle. Feather blade. Finest kind
It has been years ago but perhaps a British Gillette "NEW" with flat bottom
I have 7 go-to favorites: 2 Wolfmen (.61 & .74mm), ATT H1 & S2, Feather, Timeless (.91 mm), and not pictured Charcoal Goods (level 3). All are fantastic shavers, and while I generally prefer aggressive razors, I keep the milder ones in my rotation when I need to shave twice in a day or want a milder shave. My go-to blades are Silver Iridiums and Feather--both perform well for me.

I've tried a a few but can't say I've tried enough to give as informed an opinion as some. Gillette Flair Tip is my favourite at the moment though.
First was my grandads WW2 open comb. So close I could see the bone in my face after 😲. In hindsight, probably not a good place to start and technique was an issue.
Second was the Merkur Futur, a beautiful bit of kit and, to my eye, very well made. I just couldn't get on with it. May have been a size thing.
Gillette Flair Tip with a silver tip. Loved this from the start. Isreali personna and MWF and I'm off.
I'm waiting for a chum to drop off a merkur 34c and a couple hundred Wilkinson German blades (fleabay baragain). Everything I've seen says it's great and a good friend also uses this exclusively. If the blades don't work for me, my father in law uses Wilkinsons and so does the friend. They'll have a wee gift each. We'll see.
Currently Gillette Fatboy adjusted to #8 with a Feather blade.
I periodically reach for the Gem Micromatic open comb and the Gillette Red Tip.
I find the black tip the least aggressive of the red blue and black with the red being the most aggressive.
Funny thing, the first time shaving with the Gillette black tip i had to rince under the tap and open the razor just to confirm there was a razor blade inserted.
The Gillette Fatboy. It's been years since it was last used.
