    Default Shaving under the nose

How do you shave under the nose with a safety razor?

I just put the razor under my nose and with the top of the razor push up a bit and then do the downward stroke.

Shaving under the nose with a safety razor is pretty easy. Always make your downward with the grain pass first. This will typically leave some stubble under the nose. No worries. 2nd pass come across the grain starting from the edge of your mouth toward the center under your nose. Then repeat from the other side. If you want to make an against the grain pass, go for it. The safety razor will prevent any serious injuries.

You use kind of a rolling scooping action with very light pressure. It sounds worse than it really is and it's pretty easy with a safety razor

I use three passes too - down, sideways, up. As long as you use very light pressure, you'll be fine. The safety razor is designed to bump into your nasal septum without the blade touching the skin. As long as you don't force anything, you'll be fine.

My $0.02 is to repeat all of the above and especially highlight using light pressure. Also, if going against the grain doesn't work for you, consider doing two across the grain passes, e.g.: left to right followed by right to left.

This may be so obvious nobody bothered mentioning it, or it may be that I'm a weirdo: I do all the above, while pushing my nose up and out of the way with my opposite hand. Gives you much more room to get the right angle.

I hold my nose to the side and try not to breathe.

All of the above...and stretch your lip (make an "O" face) while you push your nose up and roll the razor. Let the blade do the work and don't force anything. If it doesn't feel right, it probably isn't.
