Default My Darwin DeLuxe Double Edge Razor

    Hey Guys,

Wanted to share some images of a razor I've had in storage pretty much since I acquired it some time ago (for a pretty penny mind you, yet not as much as they seem to go for these days...).
I am much more of a straight razor guy, but am always on the lookout for quality wet-shaving collectibles. I've used this razor a handful of times, and it is quite an exceptional piece of kit - I must admit. These Sheffield razors were made of solid cobalt steel (SS) and literally can't rust. It's also quite hefty in the hand - nicely so. As some may know the Darwin Deluxe is right up there with the most rare and collectible DE razors. They were designed with an Art Deco style and mirror polished throughout - as hopefully the images convey. In person the razor is actually far more impressive, with a bright shine and that solid steel heft to it.

    Thanks for looking

    - Mike

Quite an amazing razor. I've never seen one like this before.
It looks SUPER hefty... and shiny...
Most unique and intriguing item I've seen for a long time.

Yep, these are beautiful razors. Also, the metal they're made of (cobalt steel) doesn't rust or need plating.

I had one of them a couple of years ago. It was a decent shaver - not exceptional, but YMMV.

It's so lovely that it cries out to be used, though.

    Cool razor!
    A question?
If the metal it is made of does not rust or need any plating, what's the point of handling it with gloves?
No offense meant. Serious question. I might learn something from the answer.

    Hey there,
Quite simply I didn't want to get fingerprints on the razor It doesn't rust/tarnish/stain etc. but it certainly is a fingerprint magnet with that high buffed finish.. so just wanted clean images Looks a bit intense I know.

    Cheers,
    - Mike

That's a perfectly sound reason, and one I would not have thought of. Thanks. Beautiful razor.
