    Default Segal Razor

Hello all. I picked up one of the Segal razors...

the razor was an extremely good deal... The top cap wound up with some corrosion that wound up eating through one spot but I have been able to patch that and it seems to be holding up pretty well... Anyone else have one of these razors??

I will post a few pics soon. I still need to consider replating it but don't know right yet if aI am gonna do it right now. It has been clear coated right now and works I guess ( I haven't used it yet , but looks solid enough ) but it is def a user grade "restore" right now ( the "patch " material is showing...)...

Gasman posted about restoring nickel plating, or more accurately re-plating, a while back. I believe it was in the "what are you working on," thread. You might look at that because the results he got were fabulous.

I had a Segal. IIRC, it uses special blades. Very close to regular Gillette type blades.
Seems I trimmed a blade here or there and it worked fine. You should be able to see the difference.

Yes the Segal requires the "center" of the blade to be cut out so it can slip over the rotated head since its a one piece razor.. I have a paper pattern I downloaded but not an original blade to be able to make a more accurate modified blade for it...
