Thanked: 22841951 Globe and mail razor add.
I'm doing renovations on an old church, redoing the main stage. We ripped apart the old stage and underneath I found a 1951 Globe and mail news paper. In the news paper I found an add from Gillette about a one piece razor thats quick and easy to load.
"Everybody's talking about it!"
Seems as though Gillette has had great marketing for a long time, and still.
Here's the add
I mean, they got me! I've never seen one and now I want one.
Anyone seen, have, or heard of this razor before? Lets see some pics if you do.Burls, Girls, and all things that Swirl....

I love old shaving advertising, even more so the Gillettes.
My SOTD pic features a Superspeed which I think is the same model.
Looking around on the net I see there is a slight difference between a Rocket and my razor.Last edited by Leatherstockiings; 01-09-2015 at 02:27 AM.

The DE I have on the counter in the #1 Slot...(not that it has gotten the call lately)
There are many who consider these late 40's - early 50's (this is a 1953) to be one of the better TTO razors.
And they can still be picked up in user grade for very little $.
If you don't have a DE this is as good a place as any to start.Support Movember!

Thanked: 220Nice razors, I have a Rocket, just not with that case. Mine was also made in England. Interesting ad, it's amazing what still exists hidden out there. Thanks for sharing.

Thanked: 2284Ha, not high on my "want to buy" list right now, but noted as a, if I find for cheap make sure you buy it. These days if its clean, something I don't have and unique, I generally buy it. I'll be keeping my eye open for one of these in the wild. Seems as thou the prices on Ebay are quite high.
